About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the current bonus tube “Pink Lotus” from
This tube is available free with a purchase of just $9 until
February 19th.
You can get the tube from

The kit was inspired by tube 20-3 from
and can be purchased at

You will need my mask

Font is

I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 85, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 750 by 800 pixels and fill with white.

Make a new layer, select all, paste paper 5 into the selection, deselect, apply the mask and resize it 95%.

Paste the word art, resize 80%, apply the drop shadow, change the blend mode to “Hard Light” and move into position.

Paste element 6, resize 75%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste frame 1, resize 55% and move into position.  Select the interior of the frame with your magic wand and expand the selection by 3, paste paper 6 below the frame, resize it 35%, position in the frame, invert the selection and hit delete.    Paste the close up tube, position in the frame and again hit delete to remove the excess, deselect, lower the opacity on the tube to around 40 and apply the drop shadow to the frame.

Paste the main tube on the top, resize 65%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 1, resize 60%, drag below the tube, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 2, resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 4, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste frame 2, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 8 on the top, resize 25% and rotate 10 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 19, resize 25%, duplicate, position the original below element 8, mirror the copy and position on the top, apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 3, resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Set your background colour to black and the foreground to a bright colour from the kit, open the font and type your text, change it to a raster layer and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 5, resize 60%, rotate 10 degrees to the left and apply the drop shadow.  Drag down below the candlestick and erase parts so its wrapped around the tube.

Paste element 15, resize 40% and rotate 40 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check your layers and make any adjustments, then crop your tag, add your copyright information and text and export on a transparent background as a png.
