About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 84, blur 15.

Open a new transparent canvas 700 by 750 pixels and fill with white.

Make a new layer, select all, paste paper 1 into the selection, deselect, duplicate the paper and close off the copy.  Apply Weescotslass’ mask to the original paper.  Open the copy , apply my mask to it and resize 95%.

Paste paper 11, resize 53%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 35, resize 70% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 48, resize 90%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 15, resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste frame 6, resize 55% and move into position.  With your freehand selection tool  on the settings in my first screenshot below, draw a selection as in my second screenshot.   Go to Selections – Load/Save Selection – Save Selection to Alpha Channel  and click on “Save”.   Make new layer below the element, fill with colour #513b20 and deselect.   We will come back to this.

Pate element 43, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste  the tube, resize 75%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 17, resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 70, resize 30% and duplicate, position both along the bottom of the tube and apply the drop shadow to each.

Pate element 34, resize 30% and rotate 90 degrees in either direction, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 24, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 68, resize 23%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 73, resize 8% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check your elements and make any adjustments.

Paste the tube again just below the frame,  duplicate it twice, mirror the two copies and then close them off.  Position the open copy to show her face in the top, left hand section of the frame, go to Selections – Load Selection from Alpha Channel and click on Load to bring up your saved selection then invert the selection and hit delete on the tube.  Open one of the mirrored copies, resize it 70% and repeat the above positioning the tube in the bottom left hand part of the frame (you cannot see much).  Open the last copy, resize 80% and repeat positioning it in the right hand section then deselect.  Go back to each tube and erase any parts that show in other sections of the frame, you just want a face in each section.  Change the blend mode on the tubes to “Hard Light” and lower the opacity to around 50.

When you are all done, crop your tag, add your copyright information and text and export on a transparent background as a png.
