About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used a beautiful tube from

I used Dees’Sign Depot’s mask 1

I used the font

I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 75, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 800 by 800 pixels and fill with white.

Make a new layer, select all, paste paper 9 into the selection, deselect, apply Dee’s mask and resize it 95%.

Paste spray 8 as a new layer and resize 85%.

Paste frame 5c and resize it 55%, duplicate it, resize the copy another 80% and put the two frames in position.  Select the interior of the larger frame, expand the selection by 10, make a new layer below it, paste paper 9 into the selection and deselect.  Duplicate the paper, drag it up so to just below the smaller frame and position inside that frame.  We will come back to these.

Paste element 34, resize 30% and rotate 20 degrees to the left, drag below both frame and papers layers and position on the right, duplicate, mirror the duplicate, position on the left and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 40b, resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 50 on the top, resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Pate word art 5, resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste the tube with just the one puppy, resize 19%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 37a, resize 20% and mirror, drag below the tube, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 14, resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 26, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 38, resize 20%, duplicate, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 39, resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste the puppy without the hat, resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 2, resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 3, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 23b, resize 40% and mirror, position on the right, duplicate, drag the copy down to just above element 26 (the stack of parcels) and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 1 on the top, resize 30% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 33b, resize 12%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 13, resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 36c, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 12, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste the puppy without the hat again, resize 20% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 33a, resize 12%, drag below the puppy, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 28b, resize 35%, position below the puppy’s paws, duplicate, rotate the duplicate 10 degrees to the right and position below the bauble, apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 48 on the top, resize 30% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 17, resize 15%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check your layers and make any adjustments.

Post the tube again between the larger frame and the paper below it, resize 42%, select the interior of the frame and expand the selection as before, invert it and hit delete on the tube, deselect.  Duplicate the tube, resize it another 80%, mirror it and position between the smaller frame and paper.  Change the blend mode on the tubes to “Hard Light” and lower the opacity to around 70.  Apply the drop shadow to the frames.

Paste spray 6 above the Christmas tree, resize 70% and place in position.

When you are all done,  crop your tag (be careful not crop into the mask), add your copyright information and text and export on a transparent background as a png.
