About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

You will need my mask

You will need Animation Shop and animation 84 by Simone at

Font of choice.

I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 85, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 750 and fill with white.

Make a new layer, select all, paste paper 11 into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.

Paste the tower, resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste the moon, resize 35%, drag below the tower and place in position.

Paste bush, resize 85%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste fence, resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste the tube on the top, resize 90%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste the owl, resize 20%, drag below the tube, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste the stairway, resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste clouds, position on the tower, change your white background colour to black so you can see the clouds easily and erase the outside parts on each side then chance your background back to white.

Paste fabric flower, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste skulls on the top, resize 50% and position on the left, duplicate, move the copy over to the right and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste grass, resize 50%, position in the centre of the two skull layers and apply the drop shadow.

Paste the candles and resize them 30%, duplicate a couple of times and mirror a copy, drag them down and position mixed in with the two skull layers and the grass layer and then apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste leaves, resize 60%, duplicate and mirror the duplicate, drag below the tube, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste instrument above the tube, resize 35% and rotate 20 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste doodle roses on the top, resize 40%, duplicate and mirror the duplicate.  Position the original copy on the top on the left,  drag the duplicate down behind the tube and position on the right and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste ivy making sure its on the top, resize 70% and rotate 90 degrees to the right, position along the bottom the skulls/grass and apply the drop shadow.

Paste flower buds 1, resize 30%, drag below the ivy, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste dandelion, resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste rose 2, resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste bow 3 on the top, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste container, resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste rose 1, resize 15% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste the spider, resize 15%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check your layers and make any adjustments.

Paste magic mist, resize 60% and position between the two skull layers.

Paste the butterfly, resize 10%, duplicate twice and mirror one copy, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Crop your tag, add your copyright information and text and export as a transparent background as a png if you are not continuing with the animation.

Animation:

Close off all your layers from the top down to and including the tube and merge the remaining layers visible.  Close off the merged layer, open the closed layers and again merge visble.

Open Simone’s animation in Animation Shop and resize it 130%.  Copy your bottom merged layer and paste that in Animation Shop as “a new animation”.  Now duplicate this merged layer until you have 20 frames, which is the same number of frames as Simones animation.  Select all of Simone’s animation frames (Edit – Select All – Edit – Copy).  Select all your layer frames, right click on the first one, “Paste into current frame” and position Simone’s animation on your tag.  Back in Paint Shop, copy the top merged layer, again paste it in Animation Shop as a new animation and duplicate it until you have 20 frames.  Select and copy all these frames and paste them on your tag.  When you are done, run your tag through the Animation Wizard and save it as a gif.
