Magical Steam Girl

In this tutorial I used the tube “Magical Steam Girl” from
You can purchase Enys’ tubes at

I used the mini kit “Romantic Steampunk” from
This formerly PTU and now FTU kit is available on

You will need my mask 0009,
you will find it on my

You will need Animation Shop for the animations.

I used three freebie animations from Simone at

Font is

I used a drop shadow of vertical and horizontal 5, opacity 85, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 600 by 750 and fill with white.

Make a new layer, select all, paste paper 3 into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.

Paste element 6, resize 55% and place in position.

Paste the tube and resize it 65%.  Position the tube on the frame and use the Pick Tool on the frame to pull it down a little longer so it fits.  Select the interior of the frame with your magic wand, expand the selection by 20, make a new layer below it and paste paper 6 into it, deselect.  Apply the drop shadow to the frame and the tube.

Paste element 26, resize 65%, drag below the merged layer, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 2, resize 55%, place in position and apply the drop shadow,

Paste element 11, resize 80% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 33, resize 50%, duplicate, bring the duplicate to the top and then close it off, position the original on the right and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 25 between the tube and the frame, resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 1, resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open the flower you closed off, resize it another 90% and flip it, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 31, resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 7, resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check your layers now and make any adjustments, then crop your tag and add your copyright information and text then copy your tag, post it in Animation Shop and duplicate it until you have 22 frames.

Open Simone’s animation Steamy 004 in Animation shop and resize it 60% (Animation – Resize animation).   I wanted a shadow on mine so I opened the PSD file in Paint Shop, resized it there, increased the canvas size, added the drop shadow to each layer and brought it back into Animation Shop (you will need to close all the layers off and “copy merged” on each frame individually).   Select all the animation frames and copy then (Edit – Select all – Edit – Copy), click on the first tag frame, select all the frames and paste the animation onto your tag (Edit – Select All – right click and paste “into selected frame”).

Open Steamy 001 and resize it 50%.  This animation has 11 frames and our tag animation has 22 so we need to duplicate the animation (Edit – Select all – Edit – Copy, click on the first frame of the animation, right click and “Paste before selected frame”). You will now have 22 frames, copy these frames and paste them on your tag animation as before.

Now open the boiler gauge animation and resize it 45%.   This animation only has 8 frames and again we need to make it 22 so first duplicate the animation as you did before which gives you 16 frames.   We now need another 6 frames.  Click on frame 14 to activate it, right click and copy it, click on the last frame, right click and “Paste after current frame) and then repeat so you have two copies of it, click on frame 16 to activate it, copy it and paste this one also after the last frame and then repeat so again you have two copies, then paste each of them on the end again just the once each.   Now copy this animation and paste it on your tag.

When you are done, run your tag through the Optimization Wizard and save as a gif.
