About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. In this tutorial I used the tube “Steam Girl” from

I used a fabulous freebie kit “Steampunk” from Sternenmaus of
Elves of Rosegarden.
You can get the kit

I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 85, blur 10.



Open a new transparent canvas 700 by 800 pixels and fill with white.

Make a new layer, select all, paste paper 10 into the selection, deselect, duplicate, close off the copy, apply Rachel’s mask to the original resize it 95%.  Open the copy paper and apply my mask and resize 95%.

Paste slg5, resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste slr11, resize 55%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste sls3, resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste the tube, resize 35% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste frame 6, resize it 50%,  use your Pick tool and push it one side until its roughly half the width, rotate it 20 degrees to the left, drag below the tube and move into position.  Select the interior of the frame with your magic wand, expand the selection by 10, make a new layer below the frame and paste paper 2 into it.  Paste the tube, resize 70%, position in the frame, invert the selection and hit delete, deselect.  Apply the drop shadow to the frame and tube and change the blend mode on the tube to “Overlay”.

Paste slr18, resize 17%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste slr10, resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste sl23, resize 15%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste slro6, resize 35%, duplicate, mirror and flip the duplicate, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste sl44, resize 20% and mirror, place in position, apply the drop shadow with the box “Shadow on new layer” checked and then erase the part around the water.

Paste sl4, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste sl20, resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste sl41 on the top, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste sl16, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste sl6, resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste sl25, resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste sl1, resize 17% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste sl28, resize 15%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste slr6, resize 10%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste slr7, resize 10%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste slr5, resize 10%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste slr4, resize 10%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 27, resize 12% and rotate 20 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste sl21, resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element sl22, resize 17%, duplicate, mirror the duplicate, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

When you are done, crop your tag, add your copyright information and text and export on a transparent background as a png.
