Tarred & Leathered

In this tutorial I used the fab tube “Tarred and Leathered” from
the latest pack 80 by
You can purchase Barbara’s tubes from her

I used a awesome new kit “Spellbound” from
You can purchase this kit also from

I used mask 0790 from
and mask 2 from set 37 from

For the animation, you will need Animation Shop and

Font is

I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 85, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 700 by 800 pixels and fill with white.

Make a new layer, select all, paste paper 6 into the selection and apply Rachel’s mask.

Make another layer, paste paper 2 into the selection, check the “Invert Mask Data2 box and apply Trese’s mask, deselect and resize 85%.

Paste element 22, resize 120% and sharpen it.  We will come back to this.

Paste the tube, resize 80%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Pate element 1, resize 60%, drag below the tube, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 34, resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 5, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 15, resize 50%, pps.

Paste element 44, resize 80%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 37 on the top, resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 4, resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 6, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 41, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 19, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 12, resize 55% and mirror, drag below the tube, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check your layers and make any adjustments, then crop your tag and add your copyright information and text.

Go back to element 22 and with your free hand selection tool, draw around the element something like my screenshot below, make a new layer below the element and paste paper 2 in to the selection, deselect and apply the drop shadow to the element.  Duplicate the paper three times so you have four copies.  On each of the copies apply the Pool Shadow filter hitting on the randomise button until you get something you like.   Close of the three copies leaving the original open, right click on your tag, “Copy Merged” and paste in Animation Shop as a new animation.  Back in Paint Shop, close off that copy and open the next one, again right click, “Copy Merged” and paste in Animation Shop “Before current frame”.  Repeat with the other two copies.   Change the animation frame properties on each frame to 25, then run your tag through the Optimization Wizard and save as a gif.
