About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used fabulous layered tube “Huddled Up”
from the last pack 80 by
You purchase purchase the tube from

The kit is “Cutting Edge” from
I love the colours of this kit which is also available at

I used mask 5 from set 80 by

Font of choice.

I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 85, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 700 by 800 pixels and fill with white.

Make a new layer, select all, paste paper 10 into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.  Duplicate the mask and merge the top copy down onto the original

Paste element 30, resize 55% and rotate 20 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 88, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste frame 1, resize 45%, rotate 90 degrees in either direction and move into position.  Select the interior of the frame with your magic wand, expand the selection by 20, make a new layer below the frame and paste paper 2 into it, deselect.  We will come back to this.

Paste the tube, resize 80%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 4, resize 50% and drag below the tube duplicate, place in position either side of the tube and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 22, resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 28, resize 55%, duplicate, mirror and flip the duplicate, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 1, resize 55%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 15, resize 40% and duplicate.  Position one copy on the right of the tube, drag the second copy down below the frame and paper and position on the left, apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 45 just below the tube, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 6, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 17, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 43, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Patse element 33, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check your layers and make any adjustments, I pulled my mask a bit longer.

Paste the close up tube between the frame and the paper, resize 75%, change the blend mode to “Burn” and position in the frame.  Select the interior the frame again and expand the selection as before, invert it and hit delete on the tube, deselect and apply the drop shadow to the frame.

Paste element 2 above the frame and resize 80%.

Paste element 13 on the top, resize 30% and duplicate twice, rotate and mirror them into different positions, place around the tag and apply the drop shadow to each.

When you are done, crop your tag, add your copyright information and text, then export on a transparent background as a png.
