About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the layered tube “Violette” from the latest pack 79 from
You can purchase the tube at

I used the kit “Harlequin”, also by
and also available at her store.

I used mask 0389 from

Font of choice.

I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal  5, opacity 85, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 800 pixels and fill with white.

Make a new layer, select all, paste paper 6 into the selection, desect,  mirror the mask and then apply it to the paper.

Paste frame 1, resize 60% and rotate 20 degrees to the left.   Select the interior of the frame with you magic wand and expand the selection by 20, paste paper 1 as a new layer below the frame, resize it 40%, position in the frame, invert the selection and hit delete on the paper, deselect  Apply the drop shadow to the frame and merge it down onto the paper.

Paste the main tube, resize 80%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 21, resize 40%, drag below the tube, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 23, resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 13, resize 30% and rotate 30 degrees in either direction, duplicate, mirror the duplicate, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 34, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 7, resize 20% and rotate 20 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 8, resize 20% an rotate 20 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 39, resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 19, resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check your layers so far.

Paste the close up tube below the merged frame layer, duplicate it and mirror the duplicate.  Select the mask, float and defloat it, put the two close up tubes into position and hit delete on each, deselect.  Change the blend mode on the tube to the right to “Hard Light” and the one on the left to “Multiply”.  Set your eraser to size 100 and opacity to 10 and dab it around the edges of the tubes to blend them into the mask.

Paste element 2, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow,

Paste element 3, resize also 40% and rotate 90 degrees in either direction, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 15 on the top, resize 20% and rotate 30 degrees in either direction, duplicate, mirror the duplicate, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

When you are done, crop you tag  if needed, add your copyright information and text, then export on a transparent background as a png.
