About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the beautiful art of
You need a license to use Mélanie’s art, available from

The kit is “A la Nuit Tombée” from

I used mask 65 from
And mask 3 from set 8 from

I used the front
Morgow.

I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 85, blur 10.

I opened a new transparent canvas 700 by 700 and fill with white.

Make a new layer, select all, paste paper 13 into the selection, duplicate and close the top copy off, apply Moonbeams & Spiderwebs mask to the original copy and resize it 95%.

Open the copy of the paper, deselect and apply Rachel’s mask.

Pate element 19 and resize it 18%.  Select the interior of the element with your magic wand, expand the selection by 10, make a new layer below it and paste paper 3 into the selection, deselect, duplicate both the paper and the frame twice and move the three sets roughly into position making sure the frame and paper at the top are below the other two sets.

Paste element 49, resize 15%, duplicate, position on copy on the two frames on the right, mirror and flip the second copy, drag it below the frame/paper layers and position at the top, apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 61 on the top, resize 20%, mirror, position on the ivy on the right.

Paste element 52, resize 20%, mirror, rotate 40 degrees to the left, drag below all the frame/paper layers and papers, place in position on the left and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 28, resize 17% and mirror, drag above the top frame/paper, place in position on the left and apply the drop shadow.

Paste the same mushroom element again on the top, resize 15%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 62, resize 30%,  place in position erasing the part that shows at the bottom and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 61 again, resize 12% and rotate 20 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 46, resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 49 (the vine) again, resize 17% and position on the left, duplicate, mirror and flip, position on the right and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 52 again, resize 17%, drag it down to above the frame layers and position the flower head in the gap you have in the middle, erase the stalk and apply the drop shadow,

Paste element 27 on the top, resize 17%, position the left, duplicate, mirror the duplicate and resize it another 90%, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste the main tube and resize 75%.

Paste element 15, resize 22%, drag below the tube, place both in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 6, resize 12% position behind the tube and tree stump and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 25, resize 13%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 52 again, resize 20%, position on the right erasing the stalk that shows and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 29, resize 15% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Again, paste element 49 (the vine), resize 17% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 14, resize 8%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 16 on the top, resize 12%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 44, resize 7%, duplicate, mirror the duplicate, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Check your layers and make any adjustments.

Paste the doll from the tube and duplicate twice.   Position the dolls in the frames using my tag for reference, selecting the interior of the frames and deleting the excess on the tubes and then applying the drop shadow, change the blend mode on them to “Hard Light” and apply the drop shadow to the frames.

Paste the doll again on the top, resize 15% and mirror, position on the mushroom and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 45, resize 12%, position on the right hand frame and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 50, resize 20%, duplicate, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 7 on the top, resize 20% and place in position.

Paste element 48, resize 17%, drag right down to just above the masks, duplicate and position in the two corners erasing any bits you do not like.

When you are all done, crop your tag, add your copyright information and text, then export on a transparent background as a png.
