About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the gorgeous layered tube “Chicklet”
from the latest pack 77 from
Barbara Jensen.
You can purchase the tube at

I used a gorgeous kit called “Key to my Heart” from
This is your last chance to purchase Carita's kits at

I used the mask from the “Burning Love” freebie from

Font of choice.

I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 85, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 700 by 650 pixels and fill with white.

Make a new layer, select all and paste paper 4 into the selection.  Paste the mask as a new layer, resize it 26%, float and defloat it, invert the selection and hit delete on the paper, deselect and delete the mask.

Paste element 13, move it up towards the top of the mask and then use your Pick tool on the bottom to stretch it down more.

Paste element 30, resize 80% and move into position.   Select the interior of each part of the element with your magic wand and expand the selection by 10, make a new layer below it,  paste paper 9 into the selection and deselect.  We will come back to this.

Paste your main tube, resize 66%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 3, resize 60%, mirror and flip, rotate 10 degrees to the right, drag below the tube, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 6, resize 60% and rotate 130 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 4, resize 60% and rotate 20 degrees to the right, place in position, erase the part of the stalk that shows at the base and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 27, resize 45% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 7, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 20, resize 65% and rotate 70 degrees to the right, duplicate and mirror the duplicate, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 28, resize 110%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check your layers now.

Paste element 10 on the top, resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 8, resize 40% and duplicate, resize the duplicate another 90%, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 23, resize 25% and rotate 50 degrees to the right, duplicate, mirror the duplicate, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste the close up tube between the paper and the frame, resize 75%, duplicate, mirror the duplicate, position in each section of the frame , expand the selection as before, invert it and hit delete on the tubes.  Deselect, change the blend mode on the tubes to “Overlay” and apply the drop shadow to the frame.

Check your layers again and then, when you are happy, crop your tag, add your copyright information and text, then export on a transparent background as a png.
