About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used a beautiful tube called “Tame Me” by
There are some lovely layers on this tube including a beautiful fox
which I have not used.
You can purchase the tube at

The kit is “Hush of Winter” by
This kit is really beautiful with some stunning elements,
papers and sprays!
This kit is free with a $5 purchase from

I used mask 14 from
Moonbeams andSpiderwebs.

Font of choice.

I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 65, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 750 by 700 pixels and fill with white.

Make a new layer, select all, paste paper 14 into the selection, deselect, apply the mask and resize 90%.

Paste element 65b, resize 55%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste frame 10b, resize 45% and rotate 90 degrees in either direction.   Click anywhere on your canvas outside of the element with your magic  wand, invert the selection and then contract it by 5, make a new layer below the element and paste one of the scenic papers into the selection (I used paper1), deselect, apply the drop shadow to the frame, merge it down onto the paper and move into position.

Paste element 93b, resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste the tube, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 111, drag below the tube, resize 90% and place in position.

Paste element 82b, resize 80%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 112, resize 65%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 73, resize 90% and place in position towards the bottom of the tag.

Paste element 81b, resize 45% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow with the box "Shadow on new layer" checked then erase the part of the shadow around the bottom of the element so it blends in with the snow layer below it.

Paste element 90. Resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 91, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 54b, resize 30% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 14, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 44b, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 29b, resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 6, resize 20% and rotate 90 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check your layers now and make any adjustments.

Paste spray 14, resize 70% and position behind the fir cone over the group of elements on the left of the tube.

Paste element 63b, resize 30% and apply the drop shadow unticking the  box about it being on a new layer, position the owl on the log and use your eraser brush with opacity set to 10 around his feet to blend them into the snow.

Paste element 62b making sure it`s on the top, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste spray 3 below the lamp post, resize 80% and place in position.

When you are done, crop your tag, add your copyright information and text, then export on a transparent background as a png.
