About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the gorgeous layered tube
“Surprise Party” from pack 71 by
Barbara Jensen.
You can purchase the tube at

The kit is “Celebration” from
This gorgeous kit can also be purchased at

I used mask 06 from

Font of choice.

I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 75, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 650 pixels and fill with white.

Make a new layer, select all, pate paper 5 into the selection, deselect, apply the mask and resize it 85%.

Paste element 11, resize 50%, move up and over to the right and apply the drops hadow.

Paste element 23, resize 75%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 16, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 20, resize 60%, drag below elements 23 and 16 and duplicate, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 13 on the top, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste the tube, resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 26, resize 65%, drag below the tube and duplicate, position the two copies either side of the tube erasing the part that overlaps and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 8, resize 30%, duplicate, mirror the duplicate and drag it below the original copy, position both on the right of the tube.  Duplicate the copy again and position on the left of the tube.  Apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 34, resize 35% and position below the rose on the left, duplicate, rotate the duplicate 40 degrees to the right and position between the two roses on the right.

Paste element 19, resize 40% and rotate 20 degrees to the right, position below the top rose and leaf on the right and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 12 above the leaves on the right, resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 29, resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 1 on the top, resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 17, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 24, resize 60% and duplicate twice, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Check your layers and make any necessary adjustments, then crop your tag, add your copyright information and text and export on a transparent background as a png.
