About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the art of
I purchased my license to use this tube from
Dreamscape Imaging
but they now available at

I again used the “I’m So Hollow” from
I absolutely love this kit and this is my second
tutorial using it.
You will find the kit at

I used mask 18 from

You will need the free plugin 3D Shadow from

Font is

Other than on the frame where I used the 3D Shadow plugin, I used a drop shadow of vertical 5, horizontal 5, opacity 85, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 600 and fill with white.

Make a new layer, select all, paste paper 17 into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.  Put this canvas aside for the moment.

Open another canvas the same size and fill it with white, paste frame 2b as a new layer and resize it 40%.   Select the interior of the frame with your magic wand, expand the selection by 10, make a new layer below the frame and paste paper 7 into the selection.  Paste the tube, position it in the frame, invert the selection and hit delete to remove the excess, deselect and change the blend mode on the tube to “Overlay”.  Close off your white background layer, merge visible and copy and paste the merged layer on your original canvas.

Rotate the frame layer 30 degrees to the left. Activate your Pick tool (Deform tool in early versions of Paint Shop).  You will see some nodes appear around the frame, hold down your Ctrl key and pull out the bottom node on the right to pull the frame into perspective.  Now release the Ctrl key and push the top node down a little to make the frame narrower.  Your frame should now look something like mine does in the tag.  If its not good, undo your actions and have another go.  Using the Pick tool will have made the frame a little blurry so you need to sharpen it up (check out my Tips & Tips page for information on sharpening).  Apply the 3D Shadow plugin using the settings in my screen shot below.

Paste element 60 as a new layer below the frame, resize 65% and rotate 20 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 137, resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 134 as a new layer, resize 90%,  duplicate, flip the duplicate, place both layers into position erasing the parts that overlap and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 57 and duplicate it, position one copy below element 134 and one above it.

Paste spray 1 on the top, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 50, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 49, resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 121, resize 40% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 8,  resize 45% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 9, resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 46, resize 30% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check your layers and make any adjustments, then when you are done, crop your tag, add your copyright information and text then export on a transparent background as a png.
