Crave the Rose

In this tutorial I used the fabulous art of
You need a license to use Enys’ art, available at

I used a fabulous kit inspired by this tube from
The kit is also available at

This tube (12-1) and kit was my birthday gift choice from
Creative Design Outlet!

You will need the filter “Accelerating Daisies” by

I used two masks, masks 1 from
which you can get
and mask 0565 from

I used the font

I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 85, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 600 pixels and fill with white.

Make a new layer, fill with a colour from your tube (I used #ab160d) and apply Dee’s mask.

Make another layer, select all, paste paper 5 into the selection and apply Trese’s mask making sure the “Invert mask data” box is checked.

Paste frame 3, resize 60% and place in position.  Click anywhere on your canvas outside the frame to make a selection,  invert the selection and contract it by 6, make a new layer below the frame and fill with a dark grey, (I used #272727) deselect and erase the parts of the grey that are in the scroll edges of the frame so just the inner part is coloured.   We will come back to this.

Paste the main tube, resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste grass, resize 85%, drag below the tube, place in position on the left, duplicate, resize the duplicate another 70% and position on the right, apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste lantern, resize 70%, erase the hook, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste scenery, resize 95%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste vines 2, resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste rose, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste rose 2, resize 35% and position on the right, duplicate, mirror the duplicate and position on the left, apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste feather, resize 40%, position on the left of the tube, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste grassSkulls and bring to the top, resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste the word art and resize it 65%.  Make a new layer below the wordart and fill it with white, go back to the word art, select it, float and defloat it, invert the selection, go back to the white layer and hit delete, deselect, lower the opacity on the white layer to around 80, merge the text down onto the white layer, apply the drop shadow and place in position (you can use a gradient glow filter if you have one).

Paste the bird, resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check your layers and make any necessary adjustments.

Paste flowers, resize 80%, drag below the grass and skull layer, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Go back to the grey layer in the frame and apply the Accelerating Daisies filter on the default settings.  How this filter looks in your frame will depend on the position of the grey layer on your tag so move it about until you get it to look good and then reposition in the frame.  Now paste the tube again, resize it 90%, change the blend mode to “Hard Light” and lower the opacity to around 50, position nicely in the frame.   Go back to the grey layer and select all, float and defloat it and then invert the selection and hit delete on the tube to remove the excess, deselect and apply the drop shadow to the frame.

When you are done, crop your tag, add your copyright information and text, then export on a transparent background as a png.
