Let's Get the Party Started!

In this tutorial I used the fabulous layered tube
“Sun Sweetened” from the latest pack 65 from
Barbara Jensen.
The tube can be purchased at

The kit is “Bling it on” by
and can also be purchased at

You will need template 4 by
Kandy Kissez
from the New Year collab which you can get
here.

You will also need a mask, I used mask 6 from

Font is

Open the template, duplicate it and close the original, delete the “Info”, “Favors” and “Fireworks” layers, resize 90% with the box “Resize all layers” checked , enlarge your canvas to 750 by 700 pixels, open the bottom white background layer and fill the entire layer with white.

Click on the “Tan Circles” layer to activate it, select the circles, float and defloat them, make a new layer and paste paper 1 into the selection, deselect, apply a drop shadow of Vertical and Horizontal 0, opacity 100, blur 7 and then delete the original circles layer.

Activate “Oval Red” and repeat the above using paper 6.

Delete “Circle Grey”, paste element 2 from the kit to replace it and apply the drop shadow.

Activate “Square Green” and repeat what you did with Tan Circles using paper 4.

Activate “Star Red” and repeat the above using paper 5 but apply the drop shadow to the “Star White” layer instead of the paper layer.

Merge “Black Strip Top” down onto “Black Strip Bottom” and apply the drop shadow.

Make a new layer and fill it with the colour #db6122, click on the “Merged” layer to activate it, select it, float and defloat it and then invert the selection, click on the orange layer and hit delete, deselect and delete the original Merged layer.

Paste your tube, resize 85% and apply a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 65, blur 10. Duplicate your tube twice, mirror one copy and close both duplicates off.

Activate “White Squares”, select, float and defloat, make a new layer, fill with black and delete the original layer.  Open the mirrored copy of the tube , drag down to just above your black squares and position in the left hand square, invert the selection and hit delete on the tube.  Open the second copy of the tube and repeat positioning it in the right hand square.   Lower the opacity on these tubes to around 50 and apply the original drop shadow to the squares.

Paste element 7 as a new layer just above the star, resize 80% and apply the same drop shadow as you did on the tube.

Paste element 20, drag up to just below the main tube, resize 50%, place in position and apply the last drop shadow.

Paste element 35, resize 30%, place in position and apply the last drop shadow.

Paste element 1, resize 60%, place in position and apply the last drop shadow.

Paste element 32, resize 35%, place in position and apply the last drop shadow.

Paste element 9, resize 50%, place in position and apply the last drop shadow.

Paste element 8, resize 25% and rotate 20 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the last drop shadow.

Check your layers now and make any adjustments.

Activate the white background layer, make a new layer and select all, paste paper 3 into the selection, deselect and apply the mask, resize 95%.

Paste element 16, resize 90% and place in position.

Paste element 6 above the oval green layer, resize 80% and place in position.

Paste element 10 below the bottle, resize 35% and duplicate, place in position and apply the last drop shadow to each.

Crop your tag and resize it, add your copyright information and text, then export it on a transparent background as a png.

Baby Christmas

In this tutorial I used a really beautiful tube called
“The Christmas Angel” from
You can purchase the tube at

The kit, inspired by this tube (23-3), is by Angela at
This lovely kit can also be purchased at

You will also need Winter Mask 1 from

Font is

I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 65, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 700 by 600 pixels and fill with white.

Make a new layer, select all, paste paper 4 into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.

Paste element 15, resize 85%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste the tube, resize 75%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 6, resize 90%, drag below the tube, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste the word art and bring to the top, resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow,

Make any necessary adjustments to your layers, I resized my mask here 110% as it seemed a little small.

Paste element 9, drag it right down to just above element 15 (the greenery) and position it behind the tube, use your pick tool to stretch it out a wider so it shows either side of the tube.  When you  are happy with the size and position of the cloud, duplicate it and drag the duplicate above the tube.  Set your eraser to size 100 and erase the cloud so you can see the baby, changing the opacity of your eraser tool to 10 when you get to the bottom so some of the cloud is still visible but you can see the tube through it.   Now go back to the original copy of the cloud and lower the opacity to around 70.

Paste element 4 as a new layer on the top, resize 40% and place in position.

When you are done, crop your tag, add your copyright information and text and export on a transparent background as a png.

Go back to element 15, select the interior with your magic wand, expand the selection by 10, make a new layer below it and fill with a dark brown, I used #1d140c.  Open the closed tube duplicate, duplicate it again and hide this duplicate.  Mirror the open copy and position it in the element, invert the selection and hit delete to remove the excess, deselect.  Change the blend mode on the tube to “Hard Light” and apply the drop shadow to the frame.

No go back to element 18 and repeat this, filling both parts of the frame with the colour and a copy of the tube but don’t mirror the tube you put in the left hand part of the frame. #

Open that copy of the holly that you hid, drag it up to just below the main tube, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 28, resize 45%, position on the right of the tube, duplicate, position the duplicate behind/left of the tube, duplicate again, mirror this copy and move it over further to the left, apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 4, resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 30, resize 30% and duplicate, mirror one copy and position on the left, drag the duplicate to the top and position on the right, apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 7, resize 35%, place in position immediately above the main tube and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 1, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 20, resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 29, resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 13, resize 50% and rotate 90 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 27 and bring to the top, resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 22, resize 17%, tuck behind the pine cones and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 23, resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check your layers and make any adjustments, then crop your tag, add your copyright information and text and export on a transparent background as a png.

Tea 4 Two

In this tutorial I used the beautiful tube “Emerald”
from the latest pack 65 from
Barbara Jensen.
You can purchase the tube at

The kit is “Old News” by
The kit can also be purchased at

I used mask 141 from

Font is “Impact” which is a
Windows font.

Unless otherwise noted, I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 75, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 650 pixels and fill with white.

Make a new layer, select all, paste paper 5 into the selection and apply the mask.

Now flip the mask, make another layer on your canvas, paste the paper again into the selection, deselect and apply the flipped mask.  Merge this mask layer down onto the original and resize it 90%.

Paste element 20, resize it 90% and then move it up being careful to keep it centred horizontally (you can do this easily by clicking on the element with your mover tool and moving it pixel by pixel with the arrow keys).  Apply a drop shadow of vertical and horizontal 0, opacity 75, blur 10 then repeat the shadow.

Paste element 2 resize 55% and move over to the right.  Select the interior of the element with your magic wand, expand the selection by 20, make a new layer below it and paste paper 10 into the selection.  Open the tube, duplicate and close the original, select your layers, copy merged, paste as a new image and mirror it, then copy it again and paste on your canvas, resize 90% and position in the frame, invert the selection and hit delete to remove the excess, deselect.  Apply the drop shadow to the frame (remember to change the settings).

Paste element 24, resize 55%, position on the original bow and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 15, mirror, resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.  Close off the white background layer, merged mask layer and clock face and merge visible then re-open the closed layers.  Duplicate this merged frame layer, mirror the duplicate and move it over to the left.

Paste element 27, resize 75%, drag below both merged frame layers, position on the right and apply the drop shadow (be sure to give this element a good sharpen or it will be spoilt).  Duplicate, mirror the duplicate and position on the left.

Undo the mirror on your tube, copy it and paste it again on the top, resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 11, resize 55%, mirror and rotate 20 degrees to the left, drag below the main tube, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 13, resize 55%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 8 and bring to the top, resize 50% and duplicate, resize the duplicate another 90%, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 6, resize 45% and position between the two yellow flowers, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Change your foreground colour to #c6802a with the stroke set to 3, it doesn’t matter what colour your background is.  Open the font and type your name in lower case on the top, use the nodes to get it the right size then convert it to a raster layer.  Select the text, float it and defloat it, contract the selection by 3, invert it and then right click on the text layer in your layers pallete and “Promote Selection to Layer”, deselect.  Apply an inner bevel to this promoted layer using my settings in the screenshot.

Go back to the original text layer, again select it, float and defloat it but this time contract the selection by 2, paste paper 2 as a new layer, it should be between the original text and the promoted layer, resize the paper 70%, invert the selection and hit delete to remove the excess.  Invert the selection, make a new layer and go to Effects -3D Effects – Cutout and apply using the settings in the screenshot below, deselect.

Click on the promoted layer, merge it down onto the cutout layer and then merge that layer down onto the paper layer and apply the drop shadow.  You can delete the original text layer.

Paste element 9, resize 60% and mirror, drag below the text, position on the right and apply the drop shadow, duplicate, mirror the duplicate and move over to the left.

Paste element 27 and bring to the top, resize 30% and duplicate, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Check your layers and make any necessary adjustments, then crop your tag, add your copyright informatiion and text and export on a transparent background as a png.
