About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutoria I used the tube “Side Show” from
Barbara Jensen.
This fabulous tube is totally free with a $10 tube purchase from
made before midnight on 3th December.

The kit is “Melancholy” by
This is beautiful kit with some lovely elements
and can also be purchased at

You will also need a mask, I used mask 24 from

Font of choice.

Unless otherwise stated, I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 75, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 700 by 600 and fill with white.

Make a new layer, select all, paste paper 5 into the selection, deselect and apply the mask then mirror it and resize it 95%.

Paste element 24, resize 55%, move up and to the left and apply a drop shadow of vertical and horizontal 0, opacity 100, blur 10.

Paste element 3, resize 55% and place in position.  Select the interior of the element with your magic wand, expand the selection by 20, make a new layer below it and paste paper 3 into the selection.  Open the close up of the tube, duplicate it and close the original, choose your layers, merge visible and mirror, paste on your canvas, resize 70% and position inside the selection, invert the selection and hit delete on the tube, deselect.  Change the blend mode on the tube to “Luminance Legacy” and apply the last drop shadow to the frame.

Now paste the main tube, resize it 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow changing the settings to the ones noted at the top of the tutorial which are what we will be using from now on.

Paste element 15, resize 65% and drag down to just above the mask, position at the top on the right, duplicate and move the duplicate down and to the left (I erased a few of the outer ones so more of the main cluster showed), apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 27, resize 70%, drag up above element 24, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 18, resize 45% and mirror, drag above the gold frame, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 11, resize 40%, drag below the chair and position behind it at the top, duplicate, drag the duplicate below element 27 and position behind it, duplicate the original copy again, flip and position to the left of the first copy.  Apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 17, resize30% and position at the top of the chair, duplicate, resize the duplicate another 90% and position further on the left, apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 2, drag up above the gold frame, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 12, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 13, resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 29, resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 19, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 21, resize 40%, rotate 90 degrees to the left and flip, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 22, resize 40% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Pate element 20, resize 18%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 14, resize 50%. Place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check your layers and make any necessary adjustments, then crop your tag, add your copyright information and text and export on a transparent background as a png.
