About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the layered tube “Coquette”
from the new pack 61 by
Barbara Jensen.
The tube can be purchased at

The sumptuous kit is called “Opulence” and is by
The kit can also be purchased at

You will also need a mask, I used mask 302 by

Font of choice.

I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 85, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 600 pixels and fill with white.

Make a new layer on your canvas, select  all, paste paper 5 into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.  Resize 95%.

Paste element 1 as a new layer, resize 40%, rotate 20 degrees to the left and position on the left,  duplicate,  mirror the duplicate and move over to the right.  Working on the original element, select the interior with your magic wand, expand the selection by 10, make a new layer below the element and paste paper 2 into the selection, deselect.  Repeat this with the duplicate frame.  We will come back to these later.

Paste element 3 as a new layer, resize 70% and rotate 20 degrees to the right, drag below the  frames and papers and position at the top, duplicate, move the duplicate down to the bottom, apply the drop shadow to both copies.

Paste the tube as a new layer, resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 5 as a new layer, resize 25%, drag below the tube, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 11 as a new layer, resize 40% and rotate 30 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 6 as a new layer,  resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 21 as a new layer, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 4 as a new layer, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 29 as a new layer, resize 30% and roate 90 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 16 as a new layer, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Pate element 28 as a new layer, resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 26 as a new layer, resize 35% and rotate 30 degrees to the right, drag right down to just above the mask and position on the left.  Duplicate this layer, mirror the duplicate and position at the top on the right.

Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary adjustments.

Paste the close up of the tube as a new layer between the frame and the paper on the left, resize it 80% and position in the frame.  Select the interior of the frame and expand the selection as before, invert it and hit delete on the tube to remove the excess, deselect.   Repeat this with the right hand frame and the tube mirrored.  Change the blend mode on the tubes to “Luminance (Legacy)” and apply the drop shadow to the frames.

Paste element 10 as a new layer, drag it up to above the fan, resize 30%,place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 22 as a new layer, resize 80%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 12 as a new layer, resize 60% and rotate 40 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

When you are done, crop your tag, add you copyright information and text, then export on a transparent background as a png.
