Mermaid's Cove

In this tutorial I used the art of Sharon George.
Sharon very kindly allows her art to be used without a licence.
I have uploaded the tube for you
I am unable to find a website for Sharon but
I have used her old credits in the hope she reinstates her site.

I used a beautiful kit “Mermaids Cove” by
You can purchase the kit from

You will also need a mask, I used mask 565 by

I used the Jellyka font

I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 85, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 675 by 600 pixels and fill with white.

Copy paper 16, make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.  resize 90%.

Paste element 56 as a new layer, resize 65%, position at the top on the left and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 42 as a new layer, resize 55%, position at the top on the right and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 24 as a new layer, resize 65% and position on the left.

Paste the cropped tube as a new layer, resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 29 as a new layer, resize 60%, drag below the tube, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 26 as a new layer, resize 55% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 4 as a new layer, resize 80%, place in position so they show on the right of the tube and erase the ones on the left, apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 78 as a new layer, resize 40% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 49 as a new layer, resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 58 as a new layer, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 63 as a new layer, resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 79 as a new layer, resize 40%, duplicate, mirror the duplicate, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 28 as a new layer, resize 25%, drag below the top copy of element 79, place in position between the two copies and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 77 as a new layer, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 27 as a new layer and bring to the top, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 62 as a new layer, resize 40% and rotate 10 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 81b as a new layer, resize 40% and rotate 10 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 60 as a new layer, resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 50 as a new layer, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check your layer positions and make any necessary adjustments making sure you have that large fish on the tube positioned nicely so you can see it well, then decorate your tag with some of the fish and shells, I used:

Element 54 resized 25%

Element 47 resized 30%

Element 30 resized 45%

Element 31 resized 30%.

Element 10 resized 40%

Element 2 resized 30%

Element 70 resized 30%

Element 17 resized 25%

Paste element 74 as a new layer, resize 60% and duplicate, position one copy on the right below the shoal of small fish and the other copy above the tube on the left.

When you are all done, crop your tag, add the copyright information and text, then export on a transparent background as a png.
