Raven Witch

In this tutorial I used a beautiful tube called “Raven Witch” by
Camilla Drakenborg.
The tube can be purchased at

I used another awesome kit by
called “Witchcraft”.
I really love this kit, its packed fill of lovely elements,
many more than I have used in my tag!
You will find it at

You will need the mask

You will also need a background mask, I used mask 79 by

I used the font

Please check my “About my tutorials” page before starting if this is the first tutorial of mine that you have followed, thank you.

I used a drop shadow of vertical and horizontal 5, opacity 85, blur 10.

Open the mask and rotate it 90 degrees to the right then minimise.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 600 pixels and fill with white.

Open and copy Paper4-GI_Witchcraft, make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.

Open Moon-GI_Witchcraft and paste as a new layer.   Resize 50% and move up and to the right, apply the drop shadow and change the blend mode to “Overlay”.

Open GlitterDrop-GI_Witchcraft and paste as a new layer.   Resize 75%, place in position erasing the few small specks at the bottom, drag below the moon and apply the drop shadow.  I also erased a little bit at the top on the right.

Open Frame1-GI_Witchcraft, paste as a new layer and bring to the top.   Resize 55% and place in position.  Select the interior of the frame with your magic wand and expand the selection by 30, make a new layer below it, copy paper 4 again and paste it into the selection, deselect.  We will come back to this later.

Open your tube and paste as a new layer, resize as needed, place in position and apply the drop shadow.   I used the bonus tube resized 70%.

Open Magic-GI_Witchcraft and paste as a new layer.   Resize 70%, drag down below the tube and position on the left, duplicate, mirror the duplicate and position on the right.

Open Grass-GI_Witchcraft and paste as a new layer.   Resize 55% and position on the left, duplicate, mirror the duplicate and position on the right.  Apply the drop shadow to both layers.

Open Book2-GI_Witchcraft and paste as a new layer.   Resize 30% and rotate 20 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Charm-GI_Witchcraft and paste as a new layer.   Resize 23%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Book1-GI_Witchcraft and paste as a new layer.   Resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Bench-GI_Witchcraft, paste as a new layer and bring to the top.   Resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Lantern-GI_Witchcraft and paste as a new layer.   Resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Potion-GI_Witchcraft and paste as a new layer.   Resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Chalice-GI_Witchcraft and paste as a new layer.   Resize 17%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Cat-GI_Witchcraft and paste as a new layer.   Resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

It’s a good time now to check the positions of your layers and see if you need to make any adjustments.

Open BloodSPlatter-GI_Witchcraft and paste as a new layer.  Resize 30%, drag down so it’s just above the bench, place in position erasing any at the top that you can see behind the elements placed on the bench and apply the drop shadow.

Open Web-GI_Witchcraft and paste as a new layer.  Resize 30% and position on the bench below the cat, apply the drop shadow.  I erased the long piece that showed below the cats tail.

Open AgateStones-GI_Witchcraft and paste as a new layer.   Resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Flower-GI_Witchcraft and paste as a new layer.   Resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Spider-GI_Witchcraft and paste as a new layer.   Resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open DriedFloral-GI_Witchcraft and paste as a new layer.   Resize 25%, drag below the bench, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Again, check the positions of your layers.

Click on the frame layer to activate it, select the interior and expand the selection as before.

Open Eyeball-GI_Witchcraft, duplicate it and close the original, apply the 20/20 mask to it twice, mirror it, then copy and paste it on your canvas.  Resize it 50% and position inside the frame, invert the selection and hit delete to remove any excess, lower the opacity to around 75.  Do not deselect.

Open your tube again, duplicate it and close the original.  Mirror it and crop it around the head, something like my screenshot below.  Apply the 20/20 mask to the tube twice and then paste it on your canvas, position in the frame and hit delete again to remove the excess, deselect.  Lower the opacity of the tube also to around 75 and apply the drop shadow to the frame.

Open Beads-GI_Witchcraft and paste as a new layer, they should be just above the frame.  Mirror, resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Mouse-GI_Witchcraft and paste as a new layer.  Resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Raven 2 and paste as a new layer.   Mirror, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Fog-GI_Witchcraft and paste as a new layer.   Resize 75% and position just above the tube.

Check everything again, check it also on a black background; when I put my tag on a black background I saw I needed to erase some of the Magic layers that were too far out.

When you done, crop your tag, add your copyright information and text and export as a png on a transparent background.
