About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the art of Amy Matthews.
You  need a license to use Amy’s art, available at

I used a quirky Hallowe’en kit called
“Voodo Majik” by
The kit can be purchased at
This kit is packed full with 100 elements and 20 papers
and is great value as
Lil Ole Me’s kits are always
priced at just 99 cents!

You will also need a mask, I used mask 11 by

I used the font

If this is the first of my tutorials you have followed, please check out my “About my tutorials” page
before starting, thanks.

I used a drop shadow of vertical and horizontal 2, opacity 85, blur 5.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 600 pixels and fill with white.

Open cm_p10 and copy, make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.

Open cm_vm65 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 55% and move up and to the right.

Open cm_vm50 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 45%, rotate 10 degrees to the right and position also up and to the right.   Select the interior of the frame with your magic wand and expand the selection by 10.  Open cm_p1, copy and paste as a new layer, resize 25% and position in the frame. Don’t worry that there is are some empty areas of the frame at the bottom,  they will be covered.  Invert the selection and hit delete to remove the excess paper. Apply the drop shadow to the frame and merge it down onto the paper.

Open cm_vm32 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 65%, rotate 20 degrees to the left and apply the drop shadow.  Open cm_vm55 and paste as a new layer, resize 25%  and apply the drop shadow.  Position the spiders so they are hanging from the inside of the parasol, erasing any that are outside the parasol and erasing the webs that go over the outside of it.  When you are done, merge the spiders down onto the parasol and place in position on the left.

Open your tube and paste as a new layer, resize as needed, place in position and apply the drop shadow.  I resized my tube 75%.

Open cm_vm89 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 30%, drag down below the merged frame layer, place in position behind it and apply the drop shadow.

Open cm_vm46 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open cm_vm86 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 55% and place in position.  This element already has a shadow so no need to add another.

Open cm_vm15 and paste as a new layer.   Drag up above the merged frame layer, resize 60% and position on the left.  Duplicate, mirror the duplicate and position on the right.  Apply the drop shadow to both layers.

Open cm_vm26 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open cm_vm100 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 35% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open cm_vm34, paste as a new layer and bring to the top.   Resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open cm_vm29 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 43%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open cm_vm77 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open cm_vm54 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open cm_vm20 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 32%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Opem cm_vm48 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 12%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open cm_vm19 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open cm_vm42 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open cm_vm62 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 15%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open cm_vm60 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 13%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary adjustments.  When you are done crop your tag being careful not to cut into the mask, then add your copyright information and text and export as a jpeg with compression set to 5 or on a transparent background as a png.
