About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

I used the font

Please check out my “About my tutorials” page before starting, thank you.

I used a drop shadow of vertical and horizontal 5, opacity 85, blur 10.  I think the tag looks best on a dark background.

Open a new transparent canvas 700 by 550 pixels and fill with black.

Open Paper5-GI_FallenAngel and copy, make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.  Resize your canvas to 650 pixels wide keeping the mask central.

Open Frame6-Gi_FallenAngel and paste as a new layer.   Resize 55% and move very slightly to the right.

Open Paper8-GI_FallenAngel and copy.  Click anywhere on the canvas outside of the frame with your magic wand to make a selection, invert the selection and contract it by 15 then make a new layer below the frame and paste the paper into it.  Apply the drop shadow to the frame and merge it down onto the paper.

Open Parchment-GI_FallenAngel and paste as a new layer.  Resize 55% and rotate 10 degrees to the left, drag down below the merged layer, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Flowers-GI_FallenAngel and paste as a new layer.   Resize 45% and rotate 20 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Violin-GI_FallenAngel, paste as a new layer and bring to the top.   Resize 40% and rotate 20 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open BottleWElements and paste as a new layer.  Mirror, resize 10%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Clock-GI_FallenAngel and paste as a new layer.  Resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Pathway-GI_FallenAngel and paste as a new layer.   Resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open your tube and paste as a new layer, resize as needed, place in position and apply the drop shadow.   I resized my tube 75%.

Open FabricFlower and paste as a new layer.  Mirror, resize 50% and rotate 10 degrees to the right, drag down below the tube, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open BloodwGlass-GI_FallenAngel and paste as a new layer.   Resize 75%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Cluster-GI_FallenAngel and paste as a new layer.   Resize 75%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Candles-GI_FallenAngel and paste as a new layer.  Resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Liquor-GI_FallenAngel and paste as a new layer.  Resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open LookinGlass-GI_FallenAngel and paste as  a new layer.  Resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Cig-GI_FallenAngel and paste as a new layer.  Resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Needle-GI_FallenAngel and paste as a new layer.  Resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Lighter-GI_FallenAngel and paste as a new layer.   Resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check the positions of your layers so far and make any necessary adjustments.

Open Cloud-GI_Fallen Angel and paste as a new layer.   Resize 70% and rotate 10 degrees to the right.

Open your tube again or the close up if you have one, copy it and paste as a new image, apply the 20/20 mask to it, paste it on your canvas, resize as needed, position on the cloud and lower the opacity to around 30.   I used the close up resized 60%.  If you have any harsh lines on the tube, dab around them with your eraser brush on size 100 and opacity 10 to blend them in.  When you are done, merge the tube down onto the cloud and drag it down to just above the pathway.

Open BruisedSun-GI_FallenAngel and paste as a new layer.  Resize 55%, drag down below the merged cloud/tube layer and place in position.

Open Beams-GI_FallenAngel and paste as a new layer.  Mirror and flip, resize 55%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

When you are done, crop your tag, add your copyright information and text, then export as a png.
