About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

I used a new kit Purple Charm by
This beautiful kit is also available at

You will also need a mask, I used mask 187 by

I used the font

Please check out my “About my tutorials” page before starting, thank you.

I used a drop shadow of vertical and horizontal 5, opacity 85, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 600 and fill with white.

Open pp1 and copy, make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, deselect, apply the mask and resize it 95%. Go to Effects – Texture Effects - Blinds, change the width to 2, opacity to 20 and check the box Light from left/top.  Repeat the effect this time also checking the box “Horizontal”.

Open your tube and paste as a new layer, resize as needed, place in position and apply the drop shadow.  If you are using one of Barbara’s layered tubes, duplicate it and close the original, pick your layers and copy merged.  I resized my tube 65%.

Open el1 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 70%, drag down below the tube and place in position.

Open pp1 again and copy it, select the interior of the frame with your magic wand and expand the selection by 20, make a new layer below it and paste the paper into the selection.  Do not deselect.

Open your tube again or the close up if you have one, paste as a new layer and position in the frame resizing as needed, invert the selection and hit delete to remove the excess tube, deselect.  Change the blend mode on the tube to “Luminance Legacy” and merge it down onto the paper layer below it, then apply the Blinds texture twice as you did on the mask.  Apply the drop shadow to the frame.  I used the close up tube resized 65%.

Open el20 and paste as a new layer.  Mirror, resize 70%, drag right down until it’s just above the mask and postion towards the top on the right.  Duplicate, flip the duplicate and move it over to the left and down.  Apply the drop shadow to both layers.

Open el13 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 65%, position behind the tube and apply the drop shadow.

Open el12 and paste as a new layer.   Resuize 60% and rotate 20 degrees to the left, place in position so it shows to the left of the frame and apply the drop shadow.

Open el16 and paste as a new layer.   Mirror, resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el24 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 55%, place in position so it shows on the right of the tube and apply the drop shadow.

Open el23 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 75%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el30, paste as a new layer and drag up above the frame.   Resize 65%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el13 again and paste as a new layer.   Mirror, resize 65%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el3 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 45% and rotate 20 degrees to the right, place in position on the left side of the frame, duplicate, mirror the duplicate and place in position on the right side of the frame.  Apply the drop shadow to both layers.

Open el11 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open e15 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 40% and duplicate, position on either side of the tube and apply the drop shadow to each layer.

Open el24 again, paste as a new layer and bring to the top, resize 55% as before, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el25 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 65% and rotate 70 degrees to the right.  Place in position on the pink flower.  Duplicate,  drag the duplicate down below the tube and position so it shows on the right of her.  Apply the drop shadow to both layers.

Open el12 again and paste as a new layer.   Mirror,  resize 50% and rotate 20 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el9a, paste as a new layer and bring to the top.   Resize 65%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el16 again and paste as a new layer.   Resize 45% and rotate 90 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el2 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 40% and rotate 30 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el5a and paste as a new layer.   Resize 35% and rotate 30 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el5 and paste as a new later.  Resize 35% and rotate 30 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary adjustments.  When you are done, crop your tag, add your copyright information and text, then export as a jpeg with compression set to 5 or on a transparent background as a png.
