About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used a tube by Elias Chatzoudis
  commissioned by
Scraps and the City.
The tube is free gift with an order of $15.

I again used the fabulous kit “Dragons Land” by
Crazy Carita.
The kit can be purchased at

Please check out my “About my tutorials” page before starting the tutorial.

I used a drop shadow of vertical and horizontal 5, opacity 80, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 600 pixels and flood fill with white.

Open one of the papers and copy, I used pp2.  Make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.  Resize 90%.

Open fr3 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 65% and move over slightly to the left.  Select the interior of the frame with your magic wand and expand the selection by 20, copy the paper again, make a new layer below the frame and paste it into the selection, deselect.  Apply the drop shadow to the frame and merge it down onto the paper.

Open your tube and paste as a new layer, resize as needed, place in position and apply the drop shadow.  I resized my tube 55%.

Open el3 and paste as a new layer.   Mirror, drag down below the merged layer, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el2 and el2b and paste each as a new layer.   Resize them both 70% and duplicate them, position around the merged layer and apply the drop shadow to each one.

Open el6 and paste as a new layer.  Mirror, resize 55%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.  When you have finished your tag you can do some erasing to bring the lamp over the frame.

Open el16, paste as a new layer and drag up above the merged layer.   Resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el14c an paste as a new layer.   Resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el1 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el25 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el24 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 55%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el4, paste as a  new layer and bring to the top.   Flip, resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el2 again and paste as a new layer.  Resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el2b and paste as a new layer.  Resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el11 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 35% and rotate 30 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary adjustments, then you can bring that lamp above the frame.  When you are done, crop your tag, add your copyright information and text, then export as a jpeg with compression set to 5 or on a transparent background as a png.
