About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the tube “Peachy Keen” by
Barbara Jensen.
You need a license to use this tube, available at

The kit I used is called “Touched by an Angel” and is by
The kit is also available at

You will also need a mask, I used Gems’ mask 192.

Font is Estrya's Handwriting by Jellyka.

Before starting my tutorials, please check out my “About my tutorials” page, thank you.

Unless otherwise stated, I used a drop shadow of vertical and horizontal 5, opacity 80, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 600 by 600 pixels and flood fill with white.

Open pp5 and copy.  Make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.  Resize 90%.

Open el15, paste as a new layer and resize 80%.  Select the interior of the element with your magic wand and expand the selection by 5, open pp4 and paste as a new layer below it, resize 65%, position nicely in the element, invert the selection and hit delete to remove the excess paper, deselect.   Apply the drop shadow to the frame and merge it down onto the paper.

Open your tube and paste as a new layer, resize as needed, place in position and apply the drop shadow.  If you are using one of Barbara’s layered tubes, open it and close the original, make your layer options and copy merged.  I did a little re-colouring, which Barbara allows, (for help with re-colouring check out my mini tutorial on my Tips and Tricks page) and resized 70%.

Open el20 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 75%, rotate 90 degrees to the left and flip, drag down below the merged layer and position so some shows on the left of el15.  Duplicate, mirror the duplicate and position so it shows on the right.  Apply the drop shadow to both layers but change the vertical and horizontal to 2 and blur to 5.

Open el14, paste as a new layer and drag up above the merged layer.   Resize 60% and rotate 20 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el8 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 60% and rotate 20 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow (remember to change the settings back).

Open el7 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 40% and rotate 20 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el16 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el18, paste as a new layer and bring to the top.   Resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el13 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 50% and rotate 25 degrees to the right, place in position on the right.  Duplicate, mirror the duplicate and drag it down so it’s just above the book.  Apply the drop shadow to both layers.

Open el4 and paste as a new layer making sure it’s on the top.   Resize 40%, place in position, erase the bottom loop and apply the drop shadow.

Open el12 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 55%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el3 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el9 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 65%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el6 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 35%, flip and rotate 120 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.  I re-coloured my key making it a little brassy.

Open el10 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary adjustments.  When you are done, crop your tag and add your copyright information and text, then export as a jpeg with compression set to 5 or on a transparent background as a png.
