About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the tube “Ravished” from Barbara Jensen’s
new layered pack 40.
The tube is available at Barbara’s store.

The kit is called “Finding Emo” and is a brand new kit from
The kit is also available at Barbara’s store.
Love this kit of Carita’s, its quite different from her usual style!

You will also need a mask, I used Weescotslass’ mask 133.

Font is Amorinda.

Please read my “About my tutorials” page before commencing the tutorial, thank you.

I used a drop shadow of vertical and horizontal 5, opacity 80, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 600 and flood fill with white.

Open pp8 and copy.   Make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.

Open el24 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 90%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el26 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 90%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el6 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 70% and position on the left, duplicate, flip the duplicate and position on the right, apply the drop shadow to both layers.

Open el20 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el29b and paste as a new layer.   Resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open your tube and paste as a new layer, resize as needed, place in position and apply the drop shadow.  If you are using one of Barbara’s layered tubes, open it and close the original, pick your layer options and copy merged.   I resized my tube 75%.

Open el17 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 40%, drag down below the tube and place in position.

Open pp1 and copy.  Select the interior of el17 with your magic wand and expand the selection by 10, make a new layer below it and paste the paper into the selection.   Do not deselect.

Open your tube again or the close up if you have one and paste as a new layer, position inside the element resizing as needed, invert the selection and hit delete to remove the excess tube, deselect.  Apply the drop shadow to the frame.  I used the close up resized 65%.

Open el8 and paste as a new layer making sure its above el17.   Resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.  I re-coloured the bow red as the frame was blue (for info on re-colouring, check out my Tips and Tricks page).

Open el25 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el5 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 55% and rotate 10 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el14 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el3, paste as a new layer and bring to the top.   Resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el15 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 75%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el29 and paste as a new layer.  Mirror, resize 65%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el29b again and paste as a new layer.   Resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el7 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 35% and rotate 10 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el10 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el9 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el23 and paste as a new layer.   Place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el11b and paste as a new layer.   Resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el19b and paste as a new layer.   Resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el12 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el30 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 35% and rotate 30 degrees in either direction, duplicate, mirror the duplicate, place both butterflies into position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary adjustments.  When you are done, crop your tag, add your copyright information and text and export as a jpeg with compression set to 5 or as a png on a transparent background.
