About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used a tube by Lady Mishka.
The tube comes with several options and is available at
Pics for Design for just $1.

I used a brand new kit called “A Touch of the Orient” by
This is a fabulous kit with some gorgeous elements
and is available at

You will also need a mask, I used Weescotslass’ mask 84.

Font of choice.

Check check out my “About my tutorials” page before starting the tutorial, thank you.

I used a drop shadow throughout of vertical and horizontal 2, opacity 80, blur 50.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 600 pixels and flood fill with white.

Open one of the papers and copy, I used pp1.  Make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.

Open el1 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 70% and move up and to the right just a very little.  Select the interior of the frame with your magic wand and expand the selection by 30, make a new layer below it and fill with black, deselect.  We will come back to this later.

Open el3 and paste as a new layer.  Flip, resize 70%, drag down so it’s just above the mask and position on the right of the frame.  Duplicate, mirror the duplicate and position on the left.  Apply the drop shadow to both layers.

Open el4 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 55% and place in position on the right.  Duplicate and move the duplicate over to the left.  Apply the drop shadow to both layers.

Open el12 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 50% and position on the left.  Duplicate, resize the duplicate 90% and position on the right.  Apply the drop shadow to both layers.

Open el5 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 70%, position on the right, duplicate, mirror the duplicate and position on the left then apply the drop shadow to each layer.

Open el19 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el25, paste as a new layer and bring to the top.  Resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open your tube and paste as a new layer, resize as needed, place in position and apply the drop shadow.   I resized my tube 40%.

Open el16 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el15 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 55%, drag down below the tube, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el29 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 90%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el7 and paste as a new layer.   Flip, resize 70%,  move over so it shows on the left of the tube, duplicate and move the duplicate over to the right, erase any that overlap with the join hidden below the tube and apply the drop shadow to both layers.

Open el8 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el27 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 90%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el21 and paste as a new layer.   Mirror, resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el9 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el30, paste as a new layer and bring to the top.   Resize 85%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary adjustments.

Go back to the frame, select the interior of it with your magic wand and expand the selection by 20 as before.  Open your tube again and paste as a new layer, drag down so its between the frame and the black filled layer below it, resize as needed and place in position, invert the selection and hit delete to remove the excess tube, deselect.  Apply the drop shadow to the frame and lower the opacity on the tube to around 55.

When you are all done,  crop your tag and add your copyright information and text, then export as a  jpeg with compression set to 5 or on a transparent background as a png.
