About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the art of Ed Mironiuk.
You need a license to use Ed’s art,
available at CreativeDesign Outlet.

The kit I used was inspired by this tube (57-3) and is by
The kit is also available at Creative Design Outlet.

You will also need a mask, I used Insatiable Dreams’ mask 565, here.

Font is Pharmacy, here.

Don’t forget to sharpen up those elements after resizing/rotating as otherwise they will look a little blurry; check out my Tips and Tricks page for more info.

I used a drop shadow throughout of vertical and horizontal 5, opacity 75, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 625 by 500 and flood fill with white.

Open one of the papers and copy, I used pp5.   Make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.  Resize 90%.

Open your tube and paste as a new layer, resize, place in position and apply the drop shadow.  I resized my tube 65% and rotated it 20 degrees to the right.

Open el13 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 65%, drag down below the tube and move over to the left.

Select the interior of the three parts of this element with your magic wand and expand the selection by 3.  Open another of the papers and copy, I used pp2.  Make a new layer below the element and paste the paper into the selection, do not deselect.

Open your tube again and paste as a new layer, position nicely in the element, invert the selection and hit delete to remove the excess.  Apply the drop shadow to the frame and tube.

Open el7 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 85%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el18 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 45% and rotate 30 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el12 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 80% and rotate 50 degrees to the right, duplicate and flip the duplicate,  place both elements in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Open el14 and paste as a new layer and bring to the top.  Resize 55%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el1b and paste as a new layer.  Resize 80%, mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el3 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el1 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 70% and flip, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el19 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 90%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el20 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 90%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check the positions of your elements and make any necessary adjustments.  When you are done, crop your tag and add your copyright information and text, then export as a jpeg with compression set to 5 or on a transparent background as a png.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, if you have any questions, please email me here and don't forget to send me your result, I love to see them and include them in the gallery!
