About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the art of Keith Garvey.
This gorgeous tube is a free gift from Keith but you need a
license to use it, you can get yours here.
Thank you Keith!

I have again used the gorgeous kit Christmas Fever by
This kit is perfect for this tube and you can get it here.

You will also need a mask, I used Vix Big Mask 018, here.

Font is St. Nicholas, here.

Remember to sharpen up your elements after resizing/rotating as it makes them a little blurry; for more info, check out my Tips and Tricks page.

I used a drop shadow throughout of vertical and horizontal 2, opacity 80, blur 5.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 500 pixels and flood fill with white.

Open SkyScraps-pp3 and copy.  Make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.  Resize 95%.

Open SkyScraps-E54 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 90%, move a little up and to the left and apply the drop shadow.

Open SkyScraps-E4 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 45%, move over to the right and apply the drop shadow.

Open SkyScraps-E3 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open the tube, paste as a new layer, resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open SkyScraps-E52 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 50%, drag down below the tube, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open SkyScraps-E37 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open SkyScraps-E5 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open SkyScraps-E8 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open SkyScraps-E17 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 80% and place in position.

Open SkyScraps-E48 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open SkyScraps-E47 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 18%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open SkyScraps-E36 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 40% and rotate 90 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open SkyScraps-E50 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open SkyScraps-E51 and paste as a new layer.  Resize also 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary adjustments, when you are happy, crop your tag and add your copyright information and text, then export as a jpeg with compression set to 5 or on a transparent background as a png.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, if you have any questions, you can email me here.  As always, I would love to see your result and include it in the gallery!
