About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

I love Christmas!

In this tutorial I used the art of Alicia Mujica.
You need a license to use Alicia's art,
available here.

The kit I used is called "Angel Eyes" by
This is a beautiful kit and is currently on offer
at just $1!
You can get it here.

You will also need a mask, I used Vix Big Mask (again lol) no. 018, here.

Font of choice.

Don't forget to sharpen up those elements after resizing/rotating as otherwise they will look a little blurry; check out my tips and tricks page for more info.

I used a drop shadow throughout of vertical and horizontal 2, opacity 70, blur 7.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 500 pixels and flood fill with white.

Open pd12-pp-01 and copy.   Make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.  Resize  95%.

Open pd12-sparkle-02 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 70% and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd12-angel-wings and paste as a new layer.  Resize 70%, rotate 20 degrees to the right and apply the drop shadow. I changed the colour of the wings slightly to better match my tube.

Open pd12-frame-03 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 63%, rotate 10 degrees to the right and apply the drop shadow.

Open your tube and paste as a new layer, resize as needed, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd12-lace-heart and paste as a new layer.  Resize 70%, drag down below the tube, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd12-cloud and paste as a new layer.  Resize 70% and place in position. No shadow on the cloud.

Open pd12-leaves-01 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 65%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd12-flower-03 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd12-flower-01 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd12-branch-01 and paste as a new layer.  Mirror, resize 60%, erase the stalk that shows below the tube and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd12-ribbon-01, paste as a new layer and bring to the top.  Resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.  Erase any part of your tube that shows below the ribbon.

Open pd12-sparkle-04 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 80% and place in position.  Again, no shadow on this element.

Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary adjustments, when you are done, crop your tag and add your copyright information and text, then export as a jpeg with compression set to 5 or on a transparent background.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, if you have an questions, please email me here.  As always, I would love to see your result and include it in the gallery!
