About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the beautiful art of Maxine Gadd.
You need a license to use Maxine's art,
I purchased mine from My PSP tubes but they are now
available here.

The kit I used is called "Winter Meadows" and is by
You can get it here.

You will also need a mask, I used Insatiable Dreams mask 565, here.

Font is Ammonite, here.

Don't forget to sharpen those elements after resizing/rotating as it will make them a little blurry; check out my tips and tricks page for more info.

I used a soft drop shadow of vertical and horizontal 5, opacity 40, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 600 pixels and flood fill with white.

Open one of the papers and copy, I used pd12-pp-03.  Make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.  Resize 90%.

Open pd12-frame-3 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 65% and rotate 20 degrees to the right, move over to the right and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd12-frame-01 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 75%.

Click anywhere on your canvas outside of the frame with your magic wand, invert the selection and contract it by 10.

Open pd12-pp-01 and copy.  Make a new layer below the frame and paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply the last drop shadow to the frame.

Open your tube and paste as a new layer, drag down below the frame, resize as needed, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open p12-tree and paste as a new layer.  Resize 70%, drag down below the tube, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd23-swirl-02 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 85%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd12-branch-01 and paste as a new layer.  Mirror and flip, resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd23-flower-01 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd12-ornament-02 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 30% and rotate 10 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd12-flower-02 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd12-cardinal-01 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary adjustments.  When you are done, crop your tag and add your copyright information and text, then export as a jpeg with compression set to 5 or on a transparent background as a png.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, if you have any questions, please email me here.  As always, I would love to see your result and include it in the gallery!
