About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I have used the fabulous art of Barbara Jensen.
You need a license to use Barbara’s art,
you can purchase a license for this tube at her store here.

The kit I have used is called “Soft Sentiment” by
This is a beautiful kit and will work with several of Barbara’s tubes.
The kit is also available from Barbara’s store.

You will also need a mask, I used Vix mask 133 here
(you will find them under "Goodies").

Font is Riesling, here.

Remember to sharpen up those elements after resizing/rotating as otherwise they will look a little blurry; check out my tips and tricks page for more info.

I used a drop shadow throughout of vertical and horizontal 2, opacity 75, blur 5.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 600 pixels and flood fill with white.

Open one of the papers and copy, I used pp5.  Make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.  Resize 90%.

Open el6 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 60% and rotate 10 degrees to the right.  Move over to the right and apply the drop shadow.

Open el23 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 80%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el11 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 85%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el26 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 80%, drag down so its just above the mask layer and place in position on the left.  Duplicate and position the duplicate on the right.  Apply the drop shadow to both layers.

Open your tube, paste as a new layer and bring to the top, resize as needed, place in position and apply the drop shadow.  If you are using one of Barbara’s tubes, open it, duplicate and close the original, choose your layer options, copy merged and then paste on your tag.

Open el3 and paste as a new layer.   Mirror, resize 75%,  drag down below the tube, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el10 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el29 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el17 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 40% and rotate 30 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el27 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 75%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el1 and paste as a new layer.  Flip, resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el12 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el14 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 55%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el21 and paste as a new layer.  Mirror, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el22 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 70% and rotate 50 degrees to the right, drag down below the suitcases, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el25 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary adjustments.  When you are happy, crop your tag and add your copyright information and text, then export as a jpeg with compression set to 5 or on a transparent background as a png.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, if you have any questions, please email me here and don't forget to send me your result, I love to see them and include them in the gallery!
