Fascinating

In this tutorial I have used the beautiful art of Jamie Kidd.
You need a license to use Jamie’s art,
available at CreativeDesign Outlet.

The kit I have used was inspired by this tube 62-2 and is by
The kit is also available at Creative Design Outlet.

You will also need a mask, I used Weescotslass’ mask 84, here.

Font is Aja Italic, here.

My usual reminder to you to sharpen up your elements after resizing/rotating as otherwise they will look a little blurry; for more info check out my Tips and Tricks page.

I used a drop shadow throughout of vertical and horizontal 2, opacity 75, blur 5.

Open a new transparent canvas 600 by 600 pixels and flood fill with white.

Open one of the papers and copy, I used pp3.  Make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.

Open fr1 and paste as a new layer. Resize 70%.

Open another of the papers and copy, this time I used p6.  Select the interior of the frame with your magic wand and expand the selection by 5, make a new layer below it and paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply the drop shadow to the frame.

Open your tube and paste as a new layer, resize as needed, place in position and apply the drop shadow.  If you are using the Jamie Kidd tube, resize it 70%.

Open el2 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 65% and rotate 20 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el8 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 80% and place in position.  Duplicate, mirror the duplicate and then rotate 30 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow to both layers.

Open el1 and paste as as a new layer.  Resize 75% and rotate 10 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el10 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 55%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el9 and paste as a new layer.  Mirror, resize 65%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open fr3b and paste as a new layer.  Resize 40%, rotate 10 degrees to the right and place in position.  Select the interior of the frame with your magic wand and expand the selection by 5, make a new layer below it and fill with a dark grey, I used #1c1c1c.  Do not deselect.  Open your tube again and mirror it, paste as a new layer, resize as needed and position inside the frame, invert the selection and then hit delete to remove the excess (I used the main tube again not the close up and resized it 80%).  deselect and apply the drop shadow to the frame.

Open el6 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 55%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el14 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 25%, drag down below the beads, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el15 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el19, flip, drag down below the tube and place in position behind her, apply the drop shadow.

Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary adjustments.  When you are done, crop your tag and add your copyright information and text, then export as a jpeg with compression set to 5 or on a transparent background as a png.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, if you have any questions, you can email me here.  As always, I would love to see your result and include it in the gallery!
