About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the art of Anna Marine.
You need a license to use Anna's art, available here.

I used a beautiful Autumn kit called "Autumnal" by
Gemini Creationz.
Check out Gemini's site here to see for info on where to find her kits.
I love all the Autumn kits, thank you Vicki!

You will also need a mask, I used Insatiable Dream's mask 356, here.

Font is Ammonite, here.

Remember to sharpen up your elements after resizing/rotating as otherwise they will look a little blurry; check out my Tips and Tricks page for more info.

I used a drop shadow throughout of vertical and horizontal 2, opacity 80, blur 5.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 550 pixels and flood fill with white.

Open one of the papers and copy, I used gcz-autumnal-paper2.  Make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.  Resize 95%.

Open gcz-autumnal-bricks and paste as a new layer.  Resize 50%, move up and to the right and apply the drop shadow.

Open gcz-autumnal-frame2 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 50% and place in position.

Open gcz-autumnal-paper4 and copy.  Select the interior of the frame with your magic wand and expand the selection by 20, make a new layer below it, paste the paper into the selection and deselect. Apply the drop shadow to the frame.

Open your tube and paste as a new layer, resize as needed, position on the frame and apply the drop shadow.

Open gcz-autumnal-flower2 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 70%, drag down so its above the bricks, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open gcz-autumnal-flower3 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open gcz-autumnal-spray and paste as a new layer.  Resize 65%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open gcz-autumnal-grass and paste as a new layer.  Resize 80%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open gcz-autumnal-flower4 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 80%, place in position, erase the stalk that shows and apply the drop shadow.

Open gcz-autumnal-lantern and paste as a new layer. Drag up above the frame, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open gcz-autumnal-berries2 and paste as a new layer.  Flip, resize 65%, place in position, erase the part that is below the bottom of the frame and apply the drop shadow.

Open gcz-autumnal-ribbon2, paste as a new layer and bring to the top.  Resize 65% and place roughly in the position, we will come back to this when we have our other elements in position.

Open gcz-autumnal-leaf and paste as a new layer.  Resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open gcz-autumnal-flower1 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open gcz-autumnal-pumpkin and paste as a new layer.  Resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open gcz-autumnal-owl and paste as a new layer.  Resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open gcz-autumnal-apple and paste as a new layer.  Resize 17%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open gcz-autumnal-leaf2 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check the positions of your layers so far and make any necessary adjustments.

Go back to the ribbon element and duplicate it, move the duplicate over to the right so some shows on the right of the owl, erase any that overlaps with the first copy and apply the drop shadow to both layers.

Open gcz-autumnal-berries and paste as a new layer.  Flip, resize 40%, place in position, erase any of the stalk that shows and apply the drop shadow.

Open gcz-autumnal-fall leaves, paste as a new layer and bring to the top.  Resize 90% and rotate 90 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check your layers again and when you are happy, crop your tag and add your copyright information and text, then export as a jpeg with compression set to 5 or on a transparent background as a png.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, if you have any questions, please email me here and remember to send me your result, I love to see them and include them in the gallery!
