About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I have used the stunningly beautiful art of Maxine Gadd.

You need a license to use Maxine’s art,

 available at Creative Design Outlet.

The kit I have used is by Crazy Carita Scraps and was made for
this tube, 25-1 and is just as stunning as the tube.
The kit is also available at Creative Design Outlet

You will also need a mask, I used Weescotslass’ mask 253, here.

Font is Angelina, here.

Remember to sharpen up those elements after resizing as otherwise they will look a little blurry.

I used a drop shadow throughout over vertical and horizontal 2, opacty 75, blur 5.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 600 pixels and flood fill with white.

Open one of the papers and copy, I used pp6.  Make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection and apply the mask, deselect.

Open fr1 and paste as a new layer.  Flip and resize 75%.

Open another of the papers and copy, this time I used pp4.  Select the interior of the frame with your magic wand and expand the selection by 10, make a new layer below the frame and paste the paper into the selection.  Deselect and apply the drop shadow to the frame.

Open your tube and paste as a new layer, resize as needed, position in the frame and apply the drop shadow.

Open el2 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 80%, drag down until its just above the mask layer and position on the left of the frame.  Duplicate and mirror the duplicate.  Apply the drop shadow to both layers.

Open el14 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 65% and rotate 30 degrees to the right, place in position on the right hand side.  Duplicate and mirror the duplicate.  Apply the drop shadow to both layers.

Open el8, paste as a new layer and bring to the top.  Resize 50% and rotate 20 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el11 and paste as a new layer.  Mirror, flip, rotate 10 degrees to the left, resize 75%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open e6 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open e9 and paste as a new layer.  Resie 55%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open e13 and paste as a new layer.  Mirror, resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open e16 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 35% and rotate 40 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary adjustments.  When you are happy, cropy your tag and add your copyright information and text, then export as a jpeg with compression set to 5 or on a transparent background as a png.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, if you have any questions, please email me here and remember to send me your result, I love to see them and include them in the gallery!
