In this tutorial I used the art of Suzanne Woolcott.
You need a license to use Suzanne’s art,
I purchased mine from Artistic Minds Inc. but
they are now available here.
I used a lovely kit called “Recycled Art” by
You can get it here.
Thank you Danielle!
You will also need a mask, I used Monti’s circle mask, here.
You will need Animation Shop for the animation,
no outside filters are used and its very simple!
Font of choice, I used 2 Peas Mr Giggles.
which is a pay font but its just $1.99, here.
Remember to sharpen your elements up after resizing/rotating, otherwise they will be a little blurry. Check out my Tips and Tricks page for more info.
Apart from the tube, I used a drop shadow of vertical and horizontal 2, opacity 80, blur 5.
Open a new transparent canvas 600 by 600 pixels and flood fill with white.
Open one of the papers and copy, I used dcorbitt_recycledart_p5. Make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply the mask. Resize 85%. I duplicated the mask and merged the two layers together as it was a little light.
Open dcorbitt_recycledart_paintandbeads2 and paste as a new layer. Resize 120%. Move very slightly down and to the left.
Open dcorbitt_recycledart_world and paste as a new layer. Resize 15%, move very slightly up and to the right and apply the drop shadow.
Open dcorbitt_recycledart_frame and paste as a new layer. Resize 60% and rotate 15 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.
Open dcorbitt_recycledart_bow and paste as a new layer. Mirror, resize 50%, rotate 20 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.
Open dcorbitt_recycledart_doodledtag2 and paste as a new layer. Resize 30%, drag down below the bow and place in position, apply the drop shadow.
Open dcorbitt_recycledart_corragatedflower and paste as a new layer. Place in position and apply the drop shadow.
Open dcorbitt_recycledart_doodledbutton1 and paste as a new layer. Resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.
Open dcorbitt_recycledart_paintedflower and paste as a new layer. Duplicate twice, place each flower into position and apply the drop shadow to each.
Open your tube and paste as a new layer. Resize as needed and place in position (I resized mine 80%).
Check the positions of your layers and when you are happy, crop your tag and add your copyright information and text. If you are not continuing with the animation, apply a drop shadow to the tube of vertical and horizontal 5, opacity 70, blur 10 and save your tag as a jpeg with compression set to 5 or on a transparent background as a png.
Duplicate your tube three times so you have four copies and rename them from the bottom up, 1, 2, 3 and 4. Close off 2, 3 and 4 and click on 1 to activate it. Rotate 3 degrees to the right then unsharp mask with Radius and Clipping set to 5 and strength to 30. Activate your warp brush with the settings in my screenshots below (I have done a screenshot for newer Corel versions and also one for an older Jasc version).
Use the brush to push and pull at the tube’s hair to move it, you only need to move it a really tiny amount. Push/pull at the section of hair in 2 or 3 places and then repeat with the other sections of hair. When you are done, apply a drop shadow of vertical and horizontal 5, opacity 70, blur 10.
Close off 1 and open 2. Rotate 3 degrees to the right as before and then use your warp brush on the hair pushing/pulling in different places. Apply the drop shadow.
Close off 2 and open 3. No rotation on 3, just pull and push the hair a little and apply the drop shadow.
Close off 3 and open 4 and just apply the drop shadow.
Ok, that’s it! All your tube layers should be closed off apart from 4. Right click on your tag and “Copy Merged”, open Animation Shop and “Paste as a New Animation”. Close off 4 and open 3, again copy merged and paste in animation shop “Before Current Frame”. Repeat with 2 and 1. The animation will be running too fast so you need to slow it down to 30 (Animation – Frame Properties). Run your tag through the Optimization Wizard. On the second page of the Opmization Wizard, click on customize and make sure “Optimize Octree” is checked.
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, if you have any questions, please email me here. Don’t forget to send me your result! I love to see them and include them in the gallery!
