About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the fabulous art of Jasmine Becket-Griffith.
You need a license to use Jasmine’s art,
available at CreativeDesign Outlet.

I kit is a brand new kit called “Bootiful Night” by
This is an awesome kit, I love it, thank you Carita!
You can get the kit also at Creative Design Outlet.

You will also need a mask, I used Insatiable Dreams mask 565, here.

Font is Amonite, here.

My usual reminder to you to sharpen up your elements after resizing/rotating, this is essential for a good looking tag as otherwise it will be a little blurry.  Check out my Tips and Tricks page for more info.

I used a drop shadow throughout of vertical and horizontal 2, opacity 80, blur 5.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 600 pixels and flood fill with white.

Open one of the papers and copy, I used pp8.  Make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.  Resize 80%.

Open fr6 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 60%.

Open pp1 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 50%, drag down below the frame and position so you have plenty of the pink on the right hand side. Select the interior of the frame with your magic wand and expand the selection by 30, click on the paper to activate it, invert the selection and hit delete, deselect. Apply the drop shadow to the frame and merge it down onto the paper then move over a little to the right.

Open your tube and paste as a new layer.  Resize as needed (I resized 70%), place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el38 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 90%, drag down below the merged layer, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el28 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el26 and paste as a new layer.  Drag up above the merged layer, mirror, resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el17 and paste as a new layer.  Place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el8 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el27 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 60%, position on the frame and apply the drop shadow.

Open el15 and paste as a new layer.  Mirror, resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el14 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el6 and paste as a new layer. Resize 75%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el3 and paste as a new layer.  Mirror, resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el29 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el36 and paste as a new layer.  Mirror, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el23 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 55%, position behind the tube and apply the drop shadow.

Open el16 and paste as a new layer.  Mirror, resize 55%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el35 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 60% and rotate 30 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el34 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 70% and rotate 70 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el27 again and paste as a new layer.  Resize 90% and rotate 90 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el21 and paste as a new layer.  Mirror and flip, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el6 again and paste as a new layer.  Mirror, resize 55%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el36 again and paste as a new layer.  Resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary adjustments.

Open el20 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 67% and rotate 40 degrees to the right.  Drag right down so its just above the mask layer and position so it shows on the left hand side of the tag.  Duplicate, move the duplicate over so that just a little shows on the right hand side and then delete the rest of that layer that is showing.  Apply the drop shadow to both layers.

When you are done, crop your tag and add your copyright information and text, then export your tag as a jpeg with compression set to 5 or on a transparent background as a png.  I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, I had great fun writing it!  If you have any questions, you can email me here.  As always, I would love to see your result and include it in the gallery!
