About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the art of Elias Chatzoudis.
You need a license to use Elias’ art,
I purchased mine from My PSP Tubes but they
are now available here.

I used a really pretty kit, no. 2 from the EC Artist Series by
You can get the kit here.

You will also need a mask, I used Horseplay’s Pasture mask 11, here.

Font is Tension, here.

Remember to sharpen your elements after resizing/rotating; check out my Tips and Tricks page for more info if you are not familiar with this.

I used a drop shadow throughout of vertical and horizontal 2, opacity 75, blur 5.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 600 and flood fill with white.

Open one of the papers and copy, I used pd12-pp-03.  Make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.  Resize 90%.

Open pd12-frame-01 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 80%.  With your freehand selection tool on point to point, draw a selection through the wood part of the frame something like my screenshot below.

Open another of the papers and copy, this time I used pd12-pp-05.  Make a new layer below the frame and paste the paper into the selection.   We will need this selection again later so save it to alpha channel (Selections – Load/Save Selections – Save Selection to Alpha Channel).  Deselect. Apply the drop shadow to the frame.

Open pd12-ribbon-01 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd12-greens-01 and paste as a new layer.  Mirror, resize 60% and rotate 120 degrees to the left.  Place in position on the right hand side of the frame and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd12-flowers-03 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 70%, place in position on top of green01.  Duplicate this layer, rotate the duplicate 50 degrees to the left and resize it 90%, drag down so its just above the mask layer and place in position on the left hand side of the frame. Apply the drop shadow to both layers.

Open pd12-mushroom and paste as a new layer making sure its on the top.  Resize 55%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd12-grass and paste as a new layer.  Resize 65%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd12-greens-02 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 55%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open your tube and paste as a new layer, resize as needed, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd12-sparkle-01 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 50%, drag down below the tube and place in position.

Open pd12-flower-01 and paste as a new layer.  Mirror, resize 25% and place in position at the bottom of the mushroom.  Duplicate this layer, resize again 80% and mirror then place in position behind the tube.  Apply the drop shadow to both layers.

Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary adjustments.

Open your tube again, paste as a new layer and mirror.  Drag down below the frame, resize if needed, place in position and apply the drop shadow.  Load the selection you saved earlier (Selections – Load/Save Selections – Load Selection from Alpha Channel), invert it and hit delete to remove the excess tube.  Set the blend mode on the tube to Luminance (Legacy) and lower the opacity to around 35.

When you are done, crop your tag, add your copyright information and text and export as a jpeg with compression set to 5 or on a transparent background as a png.  I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, if you have any questions, you can email me here and don't forget to send me your result, I love to see them and include them in the gallery!
