Night Life

In this tutorial I used a tube called “Selena” and a kit called “Nightlife”
both by GeminiCreationz.
You need a license to use this tube,
both the tube and kit can be purchased at

You will also need a mask, I used Gem’s mask 16, here.

Font is AC3 Hearts 1, here.

Remember to sharpen up the elements after resizing/rotating as otherwise they will be blurry; check out my Tips and Tricks page for more info.

I used a drop shadow throughout of vertical and horizontal 2, opacity 85, blur 5.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 550 pixels and flood fill with white.

Make a new layer on your canvas, flood fill with colour #fbd519 and apply the mask. Resize 95%.

Open gemini_nightlife_frame1 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 80%.

Open gemini_nightlife_p8 and copy.  Select the interior of the frame with your magic wand, expand the selection by 10, make a new layer below the frame and paste the paper into the selection, deselect.  Apply the drop shadow to the frame and merge it down onto the paper layer.

Open gemini_nightlife_halftone and paste as a new layer.  Resize 80%, drag down below the merged layer, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open gemini_nightlife_path, paste as a new layer and bring to the top. Mirror, resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open gemini_nightlife_sportscar and paste as a new layer.  Resize 85%, place in position on the path and apply the drop shadow.

Open the tube and paste as a new layer.  Resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check the positions of your layers so far and erase the part of the path and the car that show on the right hand side of the tube.

Open gemini_nightlife_fandango and paste as a new layer.  Resize 80%, drag down so its below the path, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open gemini_nightlife_flowerspray and paste as a new layer.  Place in position, erase any that show on the right hand side of the tube and apply the drop shadow.

Open gemini_nightlife_textpath and paste as a new layer.  Resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open gemini_nightlife_discoball and paste as a new layer.  Flip, resize 75%, drag down below the textpath, place in position and apply the drop shadow.  If any of the chain shows below the tube, erase it.

Open gemini_nightlife_record and paste as a new layer.  Resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open gemini_nightlife_lipgloss and paste as a new layer.  Resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open gemini_nightlife_nailpolish2 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open gemini_nightlife_stripedheart and paste as a new layer.  Mirror, resize 50% and rotate 15 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open gemini_nightlife_beadscatter and paste as a new layer.  Resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open gemini_nightlife_emokitty and paste as a new layer.  Drag up above the car, resize 25%, position on the car bonnet and apply the drop shadow.

Open gemini_nightlife_electricguitar and paste as a new layer.  Resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open gemini_nightlife_pdaphone and paste as a new layer.  Resize 30% and rotate 10 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open gemini_nightlife_microphone, paste as a new layer and bring to the top.  Resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.  Erase some of the lead so it looks like its going around the tube’s leg.

Open gemini_nightlife_glasses and paste as a new layer.  Mirror, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary adjustments.  When you are happy, crop your tag and add your copyright information and text, then export as a jpeg with compression set to 5 or on a transparent background as a png.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, if you have any questions, you can email me here.  I would love to see your result and include it in the gallery!
