Fly Me to the Moon

In this tutorial I used the beautiful art of Gemini Creationz,
for which you need a license,
available here.

The kit I used is “Fly Me to the Moon” from Bibi’s Collection.
This is a lovely kit perfect for the tube.
You can get the kit here.

I used template 59 by Scrap Rebellion,
you can get it here.

You will also need a mask.
I used Weescotslass’mask103, here.

Font of choice.

Remember that your elements will need sharpening after resizing/rotating.  Check out my Tips and Tricks page for more info.

Open the template, duplicate and close the original.  Delete the “info” layer.

Click on “btm white square” to activate it. Go to selections – float – selections – defloat.  Open BIBI FLY ME PAPERS (7) and copy.  Make a new layer on your canvas and paste the paper into the selection, delete the original “btm white square” layer.

Activate “btm red square”, go to Adjust – Hue and Saturation – Colorize”.  Change the Hue to 236 and the Saturation to 98.  Activate the paper layer you just made above this layer and merge it down onto this layer.

Activate “top wt square” and do the same thing using the same paper.  Again delete the original “top wt square” layer.

Change the Hue and Saturation on “top red square” and then merge the paper layer above it down onto it just the same as you did before.

Activate “red circle”.  Do the same as you did for the white squares this time using BIBI FLY ME PAPERS (9).  Remember to delete the original “red circle” layer, then merge it down onto the “black circle” layer below it.

Activate “btm blk rectangle”, merge it down onto “top blk rectangle.  Do the same as you did before on this merged layer, this time using BIBI FLY ME PAPERS (8).

Resize the template 75% (make sure "resize all layers" is checked), then apply a drop shadow to each layer, vertical and horizontal 0, opacity 100, blur 5.  Merge visible and sharpen up the merged layer.

Enlarge your canvas size to 650 by 600, open the bottom white layer on the template and flood fill the full canvas in white.

Open BIBI FLY ME PAPERS (9) again.  Still on the bottom white layer, select all, make a new layer, paste the paper into the selection and apply the mask.

Open BIBBIFLYMETOTHEMOON ELEMENTS (22) and paste as a new layer.  Resize 70% and move up and to the right.  Duplicate this layer, flip and mirror the duplicate and move it down and to the left.

Open BIBBIFLYMETOTHEMOON ELEMENTS (10), paste as a new layer and bring to the top.  Resize 60%, move a little to the right and apply a drop shadow vertical and horizontal 2, opacity 70, blur 5.

Open BIBBIFLYMETOTHEMOON ELEMENTS (42) and paste as a new layer.  Resize 50%, place in position and apply the last drop shadow.

Open BIBBIFLYMETOTHEMOON ELEMENTS (7) and paste as a new layer.  Resize 55%, place in position and apply the last drop shadow.

Open BIBBIFLYMETOTHEMOON ELEMENTS (19) and paste as a new layer.  Resize 80%, place in position and apply the last drop shadow.

Open BIBBIFLYMETOTHEMOON ELEMENTS (13) and paste as a new layer.  Mirror, resize 80%, place in position and apply the last drop shadow.

Open BIBBIFLYMETOTHEMOON ELEMENTS (18) and paste as a new layer.  Mirror, resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open BIBBIFLYMETOTHEMOON ELEMENTS (17) and paste as a new layer.  Resize 80% and place in position.

Open your tube and paste as a new layer, resize as needed (I resized mine 35%), place in position and apply the last drop shadow.

Open BIBBIFLYMETOTHEMOON ELEMENTS (12) and paste as a new layer.  Resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open BIBBIFLYMETOTHEMOON ELEMENTS (40) and paste as a new layer.  Resize 55% and place in position.

Open BIBBIFLYMETOTHEMOON ELEMENTS (25) and paste as a new layer.  Resize 70%, drag down below the tube and place in position.

Open BIBBIFLYMETOTHEMOON ELEMENTS (37), paste as a new layer and bring to the top.  Resize 70% and place in position.

Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary adjustments.  When you are happy, crop your tag and add your copyright information and text, then export as a jpeg with compression set to 5 or on a transparent background as a png.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial.  If you have any questions, you can email me here.  As always, I would love to see your result and include it in the gallery!
