About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the beautiful art of Renee Biertempfel.
You need a license to use Renee’s art,
they are available here.

The kit I used is one of Pimp’d Designz
“True Color Series”.
The kits in this series can be purchased
individually or as a bundle.
The one I have used is “Coral”.
You can get the kits here.

You will also need a mask, I used
HorsePlay’s Pasture mask 1, here.

I used the font Bickley Script, here.

Don’t forget to sharpen those elements after resizing/rotating. Check out my Tips and Tricks page for more info.

I used a drop shadow of vertical and horizontal 2, opacity 75, blur 5.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 550 pixels and flood fill with white.

Open one of the papers and copy, I used pd12-pp-07.  Make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply the mask. Lower the opacity to around 75.

Open pd12-print-01 and paste as a new layer. Resize 85% and lower the opacity to around 50.

Open pd12-print-02 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 82% and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd12-frame-02 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 80%.   Select the interior of the frame with your magic wand and expand the selection by 20.

Open the paper again or choose another and copy, I used the same paper as the mask.  Make a new layer below the frame and paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply the drop shadow to the frame.

Open your tube and paste as a new layer, resize as needed, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd12-flower-03 and paste as a new layer.  Mirror, resize 60%, drag down below the tube and place in position.  Duplicate and move the duplicate down a little.  Erase the stalks and apply the drop shadow to both layers.

Open pd12-ribbon-03, paste as a new layer and bring to the top.  Resize 65% and place in position.  The ribbon is a little too long but it’s too narrow if we make it any smaller so use your pick tool to push it in at the sides a little.  Apply the drop shadow.

Open pd12-starfish-01 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd12-flower-01 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd12-ribbon-02 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary adjustments, when you are happy, crop your tag and add your copyright information and text and then export as a jpeg with compression set to 5 or on a transparent background as png.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial as much as I enjoyed writing it.  If you have any questions, please email me here.  As always, I would love to see your result and include it in the gallery!
