Cut Throat

In this tutorial I used the art of one of my favourite artists,
Screaming Demons.
You need a license to use Screaming’s art,
you can get yours here.

The kit I used is called “Cut Throat” and is by
Sky Scraps.
The kit was custom made for this tube and is available as
a collab with the tube or you can purchase it separately,
This is an amazing kit and there are many, many more elements
than I have used in this tag, I absolutely loved it!
Thank you Marie!

You will also need a mask, I used Weescotslass’ mask 133 here.

Font used is A Charming font, here.

When you resize or rotate elements, they become a little blurry so you will need to sharpen them up.  If you are unfamiliar with this, check out my Tips and Tricks page for more info.

I used a drop shadow throughout of vertical and horizontal 2, opacity 80, blur 5.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 600 pixels and flood fill with white.

Open one of the papers and copy, I used SkyScraps-CT-pp5.  Make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.  Resize 90%.

Open SkyScraps-CT-E23 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 55%.  Select the interior of both parts of the frame with your magic wand and expand the selection by 5, make a new layer below the frame and fill both parts with a dark grey, I used #322f2f.

Open the close up of the tube and paste it as a new layer. Resize 70% and position in the right hand part of the frame, invert the selection and hit delete to remove the excess tube.  Duplicate the tube and mirror it into the left hand part of the frame.  Reduce the opacity on both layers to around 50 and apply the drop shadow to the frame.  Close off the white background and mask layers and merge visible, re-open the closed layers.

Open SkyScraps-CT-E36 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 55%, drag down below the merged layer and place in position towards the left, apply the drop shadow.

Open SkyScraps-CT-E16 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open the main tube, paste as a new layer and bring to the top.  Resize 55%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open SkyScraps-CT-E40 and paste as a new layer.  Flip and resize 50%, drag down below the main tube, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open SkyScraps-CT-E35 and paste as a new layer.  Mirror, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open SkyScraps-CT-E26, paste as a new layer and bring to the top.  Resize 65%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open SkyScraps-CT-E47 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 30%, drag down below E26, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open SkyScraps-CT-E20 and paste as a new layer. Resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open SkyScraps-CT-E34 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open SkyScraps-CT-E30, paste as a new layer and bring to the top.  Resize 40% and rotate 60 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary adjustments.  When you are happy, crop your tag, add your copyright information and text and export as a jpeg with compression set to 5 or on a transparent background as png.

I hope you enjoyed doing this tutorial as much as I did making it!  If you have any questions, please email me here.  I would, as always, love to see your result and include it in the gallery!
