Snow White

In this tutorial I am using the art of Denis Zilber.
Denis allows his art to be used without payment but you require
a group permission.
I got my permission here.

I am using another of Pimp’d Designz mini kits called
Snow White from her Fairytales set.

I used two masks, Vix’ mask 176, here
(click on "Goodies" at the top)
and Monti’s circle mask here.

Font I used was Hardy Har Har which is a free font.

If  you dont have a second tube for the mirror reflection,
you can leave the mirror blank or, if your main tube is sideways
on, duplicate that for the reflection.

I used the same drop shadow on all my elements, vertical and horizontal 2, opacity 70, blur 5.

Don’t forget to sharpen your elements after resizing to counteract the blurriness (adjust – sharpen – unsharp mask, radius and clipping 5, strength 30).

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 600 pixels and flood fill with white.

Open pd-mirror and paste as a new layer. Resize 90% and apply the drop shadow.

If you have a second tube, paste it as a new layer, resize it to fit the mirror, erase any parts that show over the frame and lower the opacity.

Open pd-greens-01 and paste as a new layer. Rotate 105 degrees to the left and mirror, resize 55%, position on top of the frame and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd-flower-01 and paste as a new layer. Resize 55%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd-flower-02 and paste as a new layer. Resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd-apple and paste as a new layer. Mirror, resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd-ribbon-04 and paste as a new layer. Resize 65%, drag down below the apple and flower layers and place in position. Erase any that shows to the right hand side of the apple and apply the drop shadow.

Open your tube, paste as a new layer and bring it to the top, resize as required, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd-paper-01 and duplicate. Apply Vix’ mask to the duplicate and copy. Go to your bottom white layer and paste as a new layer. Resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd-print-01 and paste as a new layer. Resize 75%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open another of the papers and copy it. I used the same paper as I did for Vix’ mask layer but re-coloured it to complement my tube. Go back to the bottom white layer, make a new layer, select all and paste the paper into the selection. Apply the second mask.  I resized my mask 90% and lowered the opacity to 70.

Crop your tag and resize if required.  Apply your copyright information and text and then export as a jpeg with compression set to 5.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, if you have any questions, please email me here.

Sea Nymph

In this tutorial I am using the art of Lady Mishka
for which you require a license.
I purchased mine at PSP Tubes Emporium but
Lady Mishka now sells her tubes at

I am using a pretty new kit called “Aloha”

You will also need a mask.
I used Yez’ mask 069,
you can get it here.

Font I used was Borders and Ornaments Volume One,
which is a free font.

We will be using the same drop shadow throughout for this tutorial, vertical and horizontal 2, opacity 70 and blur 5.

Don’t forget to sharpen your elements after resizing to counteract the blurriness resizing causes (adjust – sharpen – unsharp mask, radius and clipping 5, strength 30).

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 600 pixels and flood fill with white.

Open pd-frame-02 and paste as a new layer. Resize 65%. Select the interior of the frame with your magic wand and expand the selection by 5.

Open pd-pp-02 and copy, make a new layer below the frame layer and paste the paper into the selection. De-select.

Go back to the frame layer and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd-wave-01 and paste as a new layer on top of the frame layer. Resize 80%. Place in position using my tag as an example. Click on the frame layer and draw a rectangular around the bottom part of the frame something like my screenshot below.

Hit delete, right click and “paste as a new layer” to paste back the part of the frame you deleted. Drag this up over the wave layer and position the two parts of the frame back together (get it close and then use the arrow keys on your keyboard to move it pixel by pixel). Go back to the wave and erase any showing below the bottom of the frame.

Open pd-net and paste as a new layer. Resize 80%, drag down below the paper layer and place in position. Apply the drop shadow.

Open pd-palm-tree-01 and paste as a new layer. Resize 60% and rotate to the right 10 degrees. Place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd-sun and paste as a new layer. Resize 80%, drag down and position below the palm tree.

Open your tube and paste as a new layer, bring the layer to the top. Resize as required,  place in position and apply the drop shadow. I rotated my tube 10 degrees to the left.

Open some of the flowers/elements, resize and decorate the right hand side of the frame. I used:

pd-flower-03 resized 35%
pd-flower-04 resized 45%
pd-flower-01 resized 55%
pd-bubbles resized 30%
pd-starfish-01 resized 50%
pd-shell-03 resized 20%.

Apply the drop shadow to each element with the exception of the bubbles and starfish.

Click on your bottom white layer, make a new layer and select all. Open one of the papers, I used pd-pp-09, copy and paste into the selection. Apply your mask.

Crop and resize your tag as required.  Apply your copyright information and text and export as a jpeg with compression set to 5.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, if you have any questions, you can email me here.

Urban Life

In this tutorial I am using the art of Alfadesire
for which you require a license.
You can get one here.

I am using an awesome scrapkit by Rieka Rafita called
“Urban Chic”.
You can get the kit here.

You will also require a mask.
Unfortunately Theresa no longer has her site but allows
her masks to be shared, you can get it here.

I am using a free font called
Most Wasted.

Don’t forget to sharpen your elements after resizing otherwise they will look a little blurry (adjust – sharpness – unsharp mask, radius and clipping 5, strength 30).

Open a new transparent canvas 650 x 600 pixels and flood fill with white.

Open RR_Frame1 and paste as a new layer. Resize 80%.  Select the interior of the frame with your magic wand and expand the selection by 10.  Make a new layer below the frame and flood fill the selection with a dark grey. Do not de-select.

Open RR_Skyline. Resize 60% and apply a drop shadow, vertical and horizontal 2, opacity 70, blur 5. Copy and paste as a new layer. Position nicely inside the frame, invert the selection and hit delete to remove the excess.

Go back to the frame layer and apply the drop shadow.

Open RR_Speaker and paste as a new layer. Resize 60%. Draw an oblong selection around one of the speakers, hit delete and then paste it back as a new layer so you have them on separate layers. Arrange either side of the frame. Apply the drop shadow to each speaker layer.

Open RR_Exit and paste as a new layer. Resize 30%. Position on top of the left hand speaker and apply the drop shadow.

Open RR_Skull2 and paste as a new layer. Resize 50%. Position on top of the exit sign and apply the drop shadow.

Open RR_Flower1 and paste as a new layer. Resize 25%. Position on your frame towards the top, right hand side and apply the drop shadow.

Open RR_Bow3 and paste as a new layer. Resize 25%. Position on top of the flower and apply the drop shadow.

Open RR_Bow2 and paste as a new layer. Resize 35%. Position lower down on the right of the frame and drag below the speaker layer. Apply the drop shadow.

Open RR_Spray1 and paste as a new layer. Resize 35%. Place in position behind the speaker and apply the drop shadow.

Open RR_Spray2 and paste as a new layer. Resize 35%. Place in position in front of the speaker and apply the drop shadow.

Open RR_Headphones and paste as a new layer. Resize 35%.  Place in position and apply the drop shadow. Erase part of the headphones so it looks like they are wrapped around the speaker.

Open RR_Ipod and paste as a new layer. Resize 35% and rotate to the right 20 degrees. Drag down below the headphones, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open RR_String2 and paste as a new layer. Resize 70%. Place in position on top of the headphones layer and apply the drop shadow.

Open RR_Sparkle1 and paste as a new layer.

Open your tube and paste as a new layer. Resize as required and apply the drop shadow.  Make any adjustments to your element layers.

Click on your bottom white layer. Select all, make a new layer. Open one of the papers, I used RR_Paper3. Paste the paper into the selection and apply your mask (note: you need to have the "invert mask data" box checked if you use the same mask as me).

Open RR_Splash3. Paste as a new layer, resize 60% and position towards the left hand side (you may need to bring this layer to the top to position it and then move it back down again). Duplicate this layer 2 or 3 times and position around the tag, mirroring and flipping as required and erasing any bits you don’t like. Apply the drop shadow to each layer.

Crop your tag and resize if required. Apply your copyright information and text. I used paper 3 again for the background on my text with a black outline width 2.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, if you have any questions, you can email me here.

Pink Dream

In this tutorial I am using the art of Eos Sparks.
You require a license to use Eos’ art,
you can it here.

I am using a really pretty scrap kit called
“Pink Dream”
by Schnegge Scraps.
You can get the kit here.
Thank you Schnegge!

You will also need a mask.
I am using Monti’s circle mask,
which you can get here.

I used a beautiful font Jellyka Castle’s Queen,
which is a free font.

Don’t forget to sharpen your elements after resizing otherwise they will be a bit blurry (adjust – sharpen – unsharp mask, radius and clipping 5, strength 30).

I am going to be using various drop shadows in this tutorial to complement the various elements.  You can use the same as me or experiment yourself.

Open a new transparent canvas 600 x 500 pixels and flood fill with white.

Open one of the papers and copy it, I used P11_PinkDream_Schnegge. Make a new layer, select all and paste the paper into the selection. Apply your mask.

Open Frame03_PinkDream_Schnegge and paste as a new layer. Resize 85%.

Open another of the papers and copy it, I used P14_PinkDream_Schnegge.  Select the interior of each part of the frame with your magic wand, expand the selection by 5, make a new layer below the frame layer and paste the paper into the selection.

Go back to the frame layer and apply a drop shadow, vertical and horizontal 2, opacity 60, blur 5.

Open Drapery_PinkDream_Schnegge and paste as a new layer. Resize 55% and position on the left hand side of the frame. Duplicate and mirror, position the duplicate on the right hand side. Don’t worry about getting them exactly in position yet, you can adjust them when you have added other elements. Apply a subtle drop shadow to each layer, vertical and horizontal 2, opacity 20, blur 5.

Open Wing_PinkDream_Schnegge and paste as a new layer. Resize 85% and position on the left hand side over the drapery. Duplicate and mirror, position the duplicate on the right hand side. Again don’t worry too much about positioning at the moment. The wings already have a nice shadow on them so we don’t need to apply another.

Open one of the bows and paste as a new layer. I used Bow01_PinkDream_Schnegge resized 45%. Place in position between the wings and apply a drop shadow vertical and horizontal 2, opacity 50, blur 5.

Open Drops_PinkDream_Schnegge and paste as a new layer. Resize 25%. Drag the drops down below the bow and place in position. Apply the last drop shadow.

Open one or more of the butterflies or dragonflies, resize and position as required. I used Butterfly01_Pink Dream_Schnegge resized 35% and a duplicate resized another 90%. Apply a drop shadow to each butterfly the same as you used for the drapery.

Open HeartLine02_PinkDream_Schnegge and paste as a new layer. Resize 60%, drag down to just above your frame layer and place in position.  Apply a drop shadow vertical and horizontal 1, opacity 50, blur 5.

Open one or more of the flowers, resize and place in position. I used Flower09_PinkDream_Schnegge resized 40% then a duplicate resized another 90%. Apply the same drop shadow to each flower as you did for the bow.

Open your tube and paste as a new layer, bring the layer to the top. Resize as required, place in position and apply the same drop shadow as you did for the frame.  Now you can check the position of your elements.

Open Bubbles_PinkDream_Schnegge and paste as a new layer.  Resize 40% and mirror, drag below the tube layer and position towards the right hand side.

Crop your tag and resize if required. Apply your copyright information and text.

I applied an inner bevel on my text with these settings:

Bevel – 2                     Smoothness – 10                     Color - white

Width – 8                     Depth – 2                                 Angle - 315

                                    Ambience – 0                           Intensity - 30

                                    Shininess – 10                          Elevation – 60

I then applied a drop shadow vertical and horizontal 1, opacity 40, blur 3.

When are done, export your tag as a jpeg with compression set to 5.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, if you have any questions, please email me here.

I am using the art of Tony Tzanoukakis.
You need a license to use Tony’s art,
you can purchase one here.

I am using another mini kit “Cinderella” from
Pimp’d Designz Fairytales Set.

You will also need a mask.
I used Insatiable Dreams mask 191
which you can get here.

We will be using the same drop shadow on all the elements, vertical and horizontal 2, opacity 70, blur 5.  Don’t forget to unsharp mask after resizing to take away the blurriness (adjust – sharpen – unsharp mask, radius and clipping 5, strength 30).

Open a new transparent canvas 600 x 600 pixels and flood fill with white.

Open pd-frame-01 and paste as a new layer. Resize 50%. Select the interior of the frame with your magic wand and expand the selection by 10. Open of the papers, I used pd-pp-07, make a new layer below the frame, copy the paper and paste into the selection. Do not de-select.

Open your close up tube. Mirror the tube, paste as a new layer and position nicely inside the frame, invert the selection, delete the excess and apply the drop shadow. Go to effects – photo effects – black and white film and apply the default settings. Reduce the opacity to around 60%. Close off all layers apart from the close up tube layer and paper layer, merge visible.  Go to effects – texture effects – weave, settings - gap size  1, width 5 opacity 10, both weave color and gap color set to white and fill gaps checked. Open the closed layers.

Go back to your frame layer and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd-flower-01 and paste as a new layer. Rotate 90 degrees to the left, resize 60% and place in position on the left hand side of the frame. Apply the drop shadow.

Open pd-flower-02 and paste as a new layer. Resize 50%, place in position at the bottom of the first flower and apply the drop shadow.

Open your tube and paste as a new layer. Resize as required, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd-light and paste as a new layer. Resize 70%, drag below your tube and place in position.

Open pd-mouse and paste as a new layer. Resize 25% and duplicate. Place the first mouse on the right hand side of the frame and apply the drop shadow. Mirror the second mouse and rotate 20 degrees to the right, drag down below the tube and place in position by her legs, apply the drop shadow.

Open one of the papers, I used pd-pp-02. Click on your bottom white layer, select all, make a new layer and paste the paper into the selection. Apply your mask. Resize 80%.

Open pd-stars-01 and paste as a new layer. Resize 60%. Position towards the top of your tag. Duplicate, mirror the duplicate and position further down the tag. Apply the drop shadow to both layers.

Crop your tag, add your copyright information and text and export as a jpeg with compression set to 5.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, if you have any questions, you can email me here.

Superstar

In this tutorial I am using the art of Zlata.
You require a license to use Zlata’s art,
you can get it here.

I am using Schnegge’s fabulous new kit
“We Are All Superstars”.
Check out Schnegge's site here.
You can get the kit here.

Thank you Schnegge.

I am using Gem’s mask 8.
You can get it here, its in set 1.

If you want to do your text like mine, you will need a fattish font.
I am using Bodini Poster which is a free font.

Don’t forget to sharpen your elements after resizing and rotating, otherwise they will look blurry (adjust – sharpen – unsharp mask, radius and clipping 5, strength 30).

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 600 pixels and flood fill with white.

Open frame03_waas_Schnegge and paste as a new layer. Resize 75%. Click inside the frame with your magic wand and expand the selection by 10.

Open one of the papers, I used p12_waas_Schnegge and recoloured it to complement my tube. Resize the paper 80%, copy it and paste as a new layer below the frame. Invert the selection and delete the excess paper. Do not de-select.

Open  cityscape_waas_schnegge, resize 80% and paste as a new layer. Position nicely in the frame and hit delete again to remove the excess outside the frame. De-select.

Apply a drop shadow vertical and horizontal 2, opacity 70 and blur 5 to both the frame layer and the cityscape layer.

Open some of the stars, resize them and position around the frame. I used star05_waas_Schnegge and star 06_waas_Schnegge resized 15% and star03_waas_Schnegge resized 25%. Apply the drop shadow to each star.

Open headphones_waas_Schnegge and paste as a new layer. Resize 25% and apply the drop shadow. Hook the headphones over one of the studs on the frame.

Open pianokeys_waas_Schnegge and paste as a new layer. Resize 80% and rotate to the left 20 degrees. Place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open stars01_waas_Schnegge and paste as a new layer. Resize 75%. Position on the pianokeys. Erase any stars that are above and not on the pianokeys.

Open a couple of the flowers, resize them and place in position. I used flower06_waas_Schnegge and flower 08_waas_Schnegge both resized 40%. Apply the drop shadow to each layer.

Open wings_waas_Schnegge and paste as a new layer. Resize 80%. I used a tighter drop shadow on the wings with less opacity of vertical and horizontal 1, opacity 40, blur 3. When I applied the drop shadow I put it on a seperate layer and erased part of the shadow away from the top where it looked a bit heavy. I did that by just tapping on it with my erasor set on size 50 and opacity 10.

Open your tube and paste as a new layer. Resize as required and place in position. Apply the original drop shadow.

Open hearts_waas_Schnegge and paste as a new layer. Resize 55%, drag down below your tube layer and place in position around the tube. Apply the last drop shadow.

Open microphone_waas_Schnegge and paste as a new layer on top of your tube. Resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open one of the papers, I used p19_waas_Schnegge.  Click on your bottom white layer, make a new layer, select all, copy and paste the paper into the selection and de-select.  Apply your mask. I resized the mask 90%.

Crop your tag, resize if required and apply your copyright information.

Copy your cityscape layer and paste it as a new image. We are going to make a pattern from it for the text. Crop the cityscape something like my screenshot below so you just have a small square.

With your background set to the pattern and your foreground set to white, stroke width 3, write your text and apply the drop shadow.

Export your tag as a jpeg with compression set to 5.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, if you have any questions, you can email me here.

Got Music?

For this tutorial you will need a body tube and a close up tube.
I am using the art of Keith Garvey.
You require a license to use Keith’s art,
I purchased mine at My PSP Tubes but
Keith now sells at PSP Tubes Emporium.

I am using a collab kit by Grunge & Glitter and Toxic Desirez
called "Music is my Life".

You will also need a mask.
I am using Gems mask 8, you can get it here.
(scroll down and you will find the link to her masks on the left hand side).

I used a filter called VTR2 by Penta.com.
This is a free filter and you can get it here.
If you don’t wish to install the filter, you can get a similar effect
using Paintshop’s blinds texture.

I used the font Rhubarb Pie which is a free font.

A note regarding Penta.com filters - if you have Filters Unlimited installed,
you will need to import the filter into that to use it.
You can find instructions on importing filters here.

The settings for unsharp mask in this tutorial are radius and clipping 5, strength 30
and we will be using a drop shadow throughout of vertical and horizontal 2, opacity 70, blur 5.

Open a new transparent canvas 600 by 600 pixels and flood fill with white.

Open Brandi’s paper 11 and copy. On your white background layer, select all, make a new layer and paste the paper into the selection. Apply the mask, resize 95% and lower the opacity to 55.

Open Brandi’s frame 2 and paste as a new layer. Rotate to the right 90 degrees, resize 60% and unsharp mask. Move the frame a little to the left.

Open your close up tube and paste as a new layer. Mirror and drag below your frame layer, place in position resizing if necessary but it needs to fill the interior of the frame. Take your freehand selection tool with the shape set to rectangle and the feather to 0 and draw a rectangle inside the edge of your frame. Its easier to do it this way than select with the magic wand because of the barbed wire on the side. Invert the selection and delete the excess tube.

Still on the tube layer, go to effects – photo effects – black and white film, set the brightness to 0 and the clarify to 20, hit ok. Apply the Penta.com VTR2 on the default settings. Go back to the frame layer and apply the drop shadow. Merge the frame and tube layers together.

Open Kristen – Music is my Life – Flame and paste as a new layer. Resize 78% and place in position on the bottom of the frame. Apply the drop shadow. Erase the tiny part that covers the barbed wire in the bottom left hand corner. Merge the flame layer down onto the frame/tube layer.

Open a few of Brandi’s flairs or brads, resize, unsharp mask and position around the frame.

Open Kristen – Music is my Life – Splatter and paste as a new layer. Drag below the merged layer, place in position, unsharp mask and apply the drop shadow.

Open Kristen – Music is my Life – Sparkles and paste as a new layer.

Open Brandi’s Chainlink and paste as a new layer. Resize 50%, place in position, unsharp mask and apply the drop shadow.

Open Kristen – Music is my Life – Bow 4 and paste as a new layer. Resize 40%, place in position, unsharp mask and apply the drop shadow.

Open Brandi’s Musicswirl1 and paste as a new layer. Resize 75%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open your tube and paste as a new layer on top of the frame. Resize as required, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check the position of all your elements, crop your tag and resize if required. Apply your copyright information.

Open your font, select a red colour from the music swirl and write your name. Apply an inner bevel with the following settings:

Bevel – 4                                  Smoothness – 10                     Colour - white

Width – 6                                  Depth – 5                                 Angle - 315

                                                 Ambience – 36                         Intensity - 25

                                                 Shininess – 40                          Elevation – 40

Apply the drop shadow to the text.

Export your tag as a jpeg with compression set to 5.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, if you have any questions, please email me here.
