About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I am using the beautiful art of Olivia De Berardinis.
You require a license to use Olivia’s art,
I purchased mine from CILM
but they are now available here.

I using an awesome free to use scrap kit called “Winter Magic”
by Mago74.
This is such a beautiful scrap kit, thank you so much Mago!
You can get the kit here.
Be sure to check out her other freebies!

You will also need a mask, I used monti’s circle mask here.

Font used is Chocolate Box Decorative,
a free font, here.

Don’t forget to sharpen your elements after resizing/rotating to take away any blurriness caused (adjust – sharpness – unsharp mask, radius and clipping 5, strength 30).

I used a soft drop shadow throughout of vertical and horizontal 5, opacity 40, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 600 pixels and flood fill with white.

Open one of the papers and copy, I used WINTER MAGIC by_Mago74 pp (3).  Make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, de-select and apply your mask.  Resize 80%.

Open WINTER MAGIC by_Mago74 ramka (5) and paste as a new layer. Resize 25%, move over slightly to the right and apply the drop shadow.

Open WINTER MAGIC by_Mago74 el (24) and paste as a new layer. Resize 15%, place in position on the left of the frame and apply the drop shadow.

Open your tube and paste as a new layer, resize as required, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open WINTER MAGIC by_Mago74 WA (1) and paste as a new layer. Drag down below the frame layer, resize 15% and place in position.

Open WINTER MAGIC by_Mago74 el (8) and paste as a new layer. Resize 14% and place in position.

Open WINTER MAGIC by_Mago74 el (21), paste as a new layer and drag it up until its just below your tube layer. Resize 10% and place in position. Duplicate this layer and resize the duplicate another 90%, rotate it 20 degrees to the left and place in position.  Apply the drop shadow to both layers.

Open WINTER MAGIC by_Mago74 el (15) and paste as a new layer. Mirror and flip the element, resize it 10%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open WINTER MAGIC by_Mago74 el (23), paste as a new layer and bring to the top. Resize 15% and position it along the bottom of the tube and clock. Apply the drop shadow.

Open WINTER MAGIC by_Mago74 el (37) and paste as a new layer.  Mirror, resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open WINTER MAGIC by_Mago74 el (38) and paste as a new layer. Mirror and flip the element, resize 20%, place in position on top of the last element and apply the drop shadow.

Open WINTER MAGIC by_Mago74 el (70) and paste as a new layer. Resize 4%, place in position on top of the last element towards the right hand side and apply the drop shadow.

Open WINTER MAGIC by_Mago74 el (44) and paste as a new layer. Resize 10% and duplicate. Position one copy over the bubble and the other position over on the left. Apply the drop shadow to each layer.

Open WINTER MAGIC by_Mago74 el (71) and paste as a new layer. Place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open WINTER MAGIC by_Mago74 el (14) and paste as a new layer. Resize 15%, place in position over the left hand star element and apply the drop shadow.

Open WINTER MAGIC by_Mago74 el (16) and paste as a new layer. Mirror and flip, resize 10%, drag down below the last layer and position so its showing just above and to the right of it. Apply the drop shadow.

Open WINTER MAGIC by_Mago74 el (17) and paste as a new layer. Mirror, resize 10%, place in position over and to the right of the last leaf, apply the drop shadow.

Open WINTER MAGIC by_Mago74 el (47), paste as a new layer and bring to the top. Resize 18%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open WINTER MAGIC by_Mago74 el (18) and paste as a new layer. Resize 10%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Crop your tag and resize if required, add your copyright information and text and export as jpeg with compression set to 5 or on a transparent background as a png.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, if you have any questions, please email me here. As always, I would love to see your result and feature it in my gallery!
