Spellbound

In this tutorial I am using the art of Sheila Craig.
Sheila allows her art to be used free of charge.
If you check out her deviant art site here you will see under
her Tou's for taggers a link to her 4shared account for her kits,
her tube are available there also.

I am using a fun kit called “Spellbound” by
You can get the kit here.
Thank you Cora, I love this kit!

You will also require a mask, I used Insatiable Dreams' mask 496, here.

Font used is Zombie Holcaust.
This is a free font and you can get it here.

Don’t forget to sharpen your elements after resizing/rotating to take away the blurriness (effects – sharpen – unsharp mask – radius and clipping 5, strength 30).

Open a new transparent canvas 600 by 600 pixels and flood fill with white.

Open one of the papers and copy, I used pd-pp-07. Make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, de-select and apply your mask. Resize the mask layer 90% and erase the small piece in the top right hand corner that looks like it shouldn't be there lol.

Open pd-frame-03 and paste as a new layer and resize 60%. Select the interior of each part of the frame with your magic wand and expand the selection by 5.

Open another of the papers and copy, this time I used pd-pp-09. Make a new layer below the frame layer and paste the paper into the selection. Go back to the frame layer and apply a drop shadow vertical and horizontal 2, opacity 70, blur 5. Merge the frame layer down onto the paper layer.

Open your tube and paste as a new layer. Resize as required, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd-cloud-01, paste a new layer and drag down below the tube layer. Resize 60% and place in position on the top part of the frame. I duplicated this layer, mirrored it and filled the gap on the left of the tube around her hat, erasing any that overlapped with the first layer.

Open pd-leaves-01 and paste as a new layer. Resize 35%, place in position so the leaves show on the left of the tube. Apply the drop shadow.

Open pd-bottle-01, paste as a new layer and bring to the top. Resize 35%, place in position on the left hand side of the frame and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd-bottle-02 and paste as a new layer. Again resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd-bubbles and paste as a new layer. Resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd-bottle-03 and paste as a new layer. Resize 28%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open one of the eyes, I used pd-eye-02 and paste as a new layer. Resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd-web-01 and paste as a new layer. Resize 35%, drape the cobweb over the bottles and eye, apply the drop shadow changing the vertical and horizontal to 1 and the blur to 3 and erase any that looks out of place around the edge of the elements.

Open pd-bottle-03 and paste as a new layer. Resize 35%, place in position on the right hand side of the frame and apply the drop shadow changing the vertical and horizontal back to 2 and the blur to 5.

Open pd-broom and paste as a new layer. Resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow. I erased part of the handle so it looked like it was behind the tube.

Open pd-cauldron-02 and paste as a new layer. Resize 35%, place in position and apply the last drop shadow.

Open pd-book and paste as a new layer. Resize 80%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd-web-01 again and paste as a new layer. Resize 35%, drape over the book, apply the same drop shadow as you did for the first web and erase any around the book as before.

Crop your tag and resize as required. Apply your copyright information and text.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, if you have any questions or would like your tag featured in my tag gallery, please email me here, I would love to see your result!
