Glam Vamp

For this tutorial you will need a close up tube and a body tube.
I am using the art of Keith Garvey.
You require a license to use Keith’s art,
you can purchase one here.

I am using a stunning new kit called “Goth Glam” by
You can get the kit here.

You will require a mask, I used Weescotslass’ mask 133,  here.

Font used is Velour.
This is a free font and you can get it here.

Don’t forget to sharpen your elements after resizing/rotating to take away the blurriness (effects – sharpen – unsharp mask – radius and clipping 5, strength 50).  Its particularly important with this tag to unsharp mask on your elements or you will lose the lovely glossy look of the splatters and the spider!

Drop shadow used is vertical and horizontal 5, opacity 75, blur 5.

Open a new canvas 650 by 650 pixels and flood fill with white.

Open one of the papers and copy, I used pd-pp-01. Make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, de-select and apply the mask. Resize 85%.

Open pd-frame-04 and paste as a new layer. Resize 65% and move over slightly to the left.

Open the paper again and copy, select the interior of the frame with your magic wand and expand the selection by 5, make a new layer below the frame and paste the paper into the selection. Do not de-select.

Open your close up tube and paste as a new layer. Resize as required and position her inside the frame. Invert the selection and hit delete to remove the excess tube, then apply the drop shadow. Merge the tube layer down onto the paper layer, go to effects – texture effects – blinds, settings width 2, opacity 25, colour black, horizontal unchecked, light from left/top checked. Go back to the frame layer, apply the drop shadow and merge down onto the tube/paper layer.

Open pd-moon and paste as a new layer. Resize 70%, drag down below the merged layer and place in position.

Open pd-bats and paste as a new layer. Resize 35%, place in position on the moon and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd-leaves-01 and paste as a new layer. Resize 70% and rotate 120 degrees to the left. Place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd-print-03 and paste as a new layer. Resize 60% and position towards the right hand side. Duplicate this layer, mirror and flip the duplicate and position on the left hand side. Apply the drop shadow to both layers.

Open pd-print-04 and paste as a new layer. Resize 65%, drag this layer down below the moon layer and place in position so there is just a bit of it showing at the top behind the frame. Apply the drop shadow.

Open pd-swirl-02, paste as a new layer, drag the layer up until its just below the merged layer. Resize 65%, rotate 20 degrees to the right and place in position.

Open pd-ribbon-04 and paste as a new layer. Resize 45% and rotate 90 degrees to the left, Place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd-flower-05, paste as a new layer and bring to the top. Resize 35%, place in position on the bottom, left hand corner of the frame and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd-flower-06 and paste as a new layer. Resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd-spider and paste as a new layer. Resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open your body tube and paste as a new layer. Resize as required and place in position, apply the drop shadow.

Crop your tag and resize if required, add your copyright information and text. Save as jpeg with compression set to 5 or on a transparent background as a png.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, if you have any questions, please email me here. You can also email me your result, I would love to see it and feature it in my tag gallery!
