About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I am using the art of Anna Marine.
You require a license to use Anna’s art,
you can get yours here.

I am using a beautiful new kit called “Break Me” by
You can get the kit here,
(currently on sale at half price!)
I loved this kit, thank you Cora!

You will also require a mask,
I used Gem’s Mask 206, here.

Don’t forget to sharpen your elements after resizing/rotating to take away the blurriness (effects – sharpen – unsharp mask – radius and clipping 5, strength 30).
Open a new transparent canvas 600 x 550 pixels and flood fill with white.

Open one of the papers, I used pd-pp-04 and copy. Make a new layer on your canvas, select all and paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply your mask. Resize 95%.

Open pd-print-02 and paste as a new layer. Resize 75% and move to the bottom of the mask. Duplicate this layer, mirror and flip the duplicate and position at the top of the mask. Apply a drop shadow on each layer vertical and horizontal 1, opacity 70, blur 3.

Open pd-frame-04 and paste as a new layer. Resize 55%. Select the interior of the frame with your magic wand and expand the selection by 10. Open another of the papers and copy, I used pd-pp-03. Make a new layer below the frame layer and paste the paper into the selection, de-select. Go back to the frame layer and apply a drop shadow, vertical and horizontal 5, opacity 70, blur 10.

Open pd-moon-01 and paste as a new layer. Resize 70%, drag down below the frame and paper layers and place in position. Apply a drop shadow, vertical and horizontal 5, opacity 50, blur 10.

Open pd-flower-01 and paste as a new layer. Mirror, resize 70% and place in position over the moon. Duplicate this layer, mirror and flip. Position below the first flower and erase any of the stalk which shows at the top. Apply a drop shadow to each layer the same as you did for the frame.

Open pd-leaf-01 and paste as a new layer. Resize 65% and rotate 10 degrees to the right. Place in position over the flowers and apply the last drop shadow.

Open pd-flower-02, paste as a new layer and bring to the top. Resize 75% and position on the left hand side of the frame. Duplicate this layer, mirror and position on the right hand side of the frame.

Open your tube and paste as a new layer. Resize as required and place in position inside the frame. Apply the drop shadow.  Don’t worry about the white flowers that look a bit wrong on the bottom of the tube, we will cover them with the feather.

Open pd-feather-01 and paste as a new layer. Resize 80%, mirror, rotate 30 degrees to the left and paste in position, apply the last drop shadow.

Open pd-keyboard and paste as a new layer. Mirror, resize 60%, place in position and apply the last drop shadow.

Open pd-ribbon-01 and paste as a new layer. Resize 55%, place in position and apply the last drop shadow.

Open pd-hearts-01 and paste as a new layer. Resize 30%, place in position and apply the last drop shadow.

Open pd-wordart-01 and paste as a new layer. Resize 60% and place in position.

Check the positioning of your elements. Crop your tag and resize if required, apply your copyright information and text and export as a jpeg with compression set to 5 or on a transparent background as a png.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, if you have any questions, please email me here.
