About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I am using the art of Jessica Galbreth.
You require a license to use Jessica’s art,
I purchased mine from CILM.
Jessica now sells her newer tubes at Creative Design Outlet.

I am using a beautiful free to use collab kit Mystique by
Don’t forget to leave some love when you download.

You will also require a mask.
I used gems mask8 (from set 1), you can get it here

Font I used is Jellyka – Le Grand Saut
which is a free font.

Don’t forget to sharpen your elements after resizing as otherwise they will be a little blurry (adjust – sharpen – unsharp mask – radius and clipping 5, strength 30).

I used a drop shadow throughout of vertical and horizontal, 2 opacity 70, blur 5.

Open a new transparent canvas 500 by 500 pixels and flood fill with white.

Open sb_pmt_mystique_collab_paper11 and copy. Make a new layer on your canvas, select all and paste the paper into the selection. Apply your mask and resize 95%.

Open mystical-swirl2 and paste as a new layer. Resize 80% and lower the opacity to 40.

Open sb_pmt_mystique_crystal 5 and paste as a new layer. Mirror, resize 40%, apply the drop shadow and place roughly in position.

Open sb_pmt_mystique_collab_star cluster and paste as a new layer. Resize 60%. The stars already have a drop shadow so no need for another.

Open sb_pmt_mystique_crystal 3 and paste as a new layer. Resize 40%, apply the drop shadow and place in position.

Open sb_pmt_mystique_sparkles1 and paste as a new layer. Resize 70 and place in position. No drop shadow required.

Open stone1 and paste as a new layer. Resize 40%, place in position behind crystal 3 and apply the drop shadow.

Open sb_pmt_mystique_collab_stone1, paste as a new layer and bring to the top. Rotate 90 degrees to the left, resize 30%, place in position. This stone already has a drop shadow so no need for another.

Open sb_pmt_mystique_collab_stone2 and paste as a new layer. Resize 25% and place in position. Again this stone already has a drop shadow.

Open sb_pmt_mystique_collab_stone3 and paste as a new layer. Resize 25% and place in position. Again this stone already has a drop shadow.

Open your tube and paste as a new layer. Resize as required, place in position and apply the drop shadow. If you are using a part body tube as I have, use your erasor brush on size 100 and opacity 10 and carefully dab around the bottom of the tube to blend the harsh line in. Check the positioning of all your elements.

Open lightening and paste as a new layer. Resize 80% and drag down until its just above the second crystal layer. Adjust – blur – Gaussian blur – radius 3.

Crop your tag and apply your copyright information. Pick a nice colour for the text and apply your text. On the text apply an inner bevel with the settings below and then apply the drop shadow.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, if you have any questions, please email me here.
