About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the art of Alayna Magnan which I purchased from CILM.
Alayna now sells her tubes at mypsptubes.

I used a scrapkit called Gothiquesque by CBJ.
Please visit Jo's blog here for details.
You will also require a mask of your choice.

I recoloured some of the elements in the kit to compliment my tube.

Open a new canvas 650 x 600 pixels and floodfill with white.

Open CBJ_Gothiquesque_Mesh and paste as a new layer. Resize 55%.  Effects - sharpen - unsharp mask radius - 2, strength -50, clipping - 5. Apply a drop shadow horizontal and vertical 2, opacity 70, blur 3. Move the mesh over a little to the left.

Open CBJ_Gothiquesque_Clock and paste as a new layer.  Resize 50%.  Apply a drop shadow horizontal and vertical 5, opacity 60, blur 10.  Move over slightly to the right.

Open GBJ_Gothiquesque_BarbWireSkull and paste as  new layer.  Resize 80%. Effects - sharpen - unsharp mask with the same settings as before.  Apply a drop shadow horizontal and vertical 5, opacity 70, blur 5. Position as my example.

Open CBJ_Gothiquesque_StitchedHeart and paste as a new layer.  Resize 80%. Apply the same drop shadow as you did for the clock. Position as my example.

Open CBJ_Gothiquesque_GlitterSpill and paste as a new layer.  Duplication this layer a couple of times, drag the layers down until they are just above the mesh layer and position around the tag.  Add a drop shadow to each layer the same as for the barbwireskull.

Open CBJ_Gothiquesque_Ivy, click on your top tube layer and paste as a new layer. Resize 50% and then 80%. Image - rotate - free rotate, settings Direction right, degrees 90. Duplicate this layer, flip and mirror. Effects - sharpen - unsharp mask with the same settings as before and position. Apply a drop shadow to each layer the same as for the clock.

Open CBJ_Gothiquesque_Twisted Ribbon. Resize 50% and then 80%. Rotate the image, unsharp mask and apply a drop shadow the same as for the ivy. Place in position.

Open CBJ_Gothiquesque_Paper 8, click on your bottom background layer and select all, make a new layer and paste the paper into the selection. Apply a mask of your choice.

Add any other elements of your choice, I added two dragonflies.

Add your copyright and text.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial. If you have any problems, you can email me here.
